So I found a PS4 Pro CUH 7015B console at GameStop. They have a horrible return policy for "new" (not preowned) consoles... but everything online seems to point towards this having pre 4.05 firmware. Youtube unboxing videos showing the 7015B almost always show the users screen imediately pushing a 4.05 firmware upgrade too. However there is like one single comment (it looks like he posted in a two forums with the same post too) where it says he "had the same model and box art" and the console was on 4.70. Seems odd to me that a console that came out in 2016 would have a firmware version that wasn't released until 2017. Were they ever using old boxes with newer consoles in them?? Any advice on how to crack the seal without voiding the return policy? (keep in mind my heat gun is in storage...)
The console is brand new, never opened. Small gamestop store with little traffic. LOTS of dust on the console (loved seeing that actually). And box says CUH-7015B.
Any advice? Looking to buy it tomorrow... I already have a 4.05 walmart white one, so if this is lower than 4.05 I can return my walmart one and just keep the pro around until the get a higher firmware exploit. but if it doesn't, i have a 400 dollar version of a system i already own.
