do not make a restore. You don't have a lot installed, on the contrary.

ok because I have bunch of wad I installed recently, recommended by modmii.
do not make a restore. You don't have a lot installed, on the contrary.
and having a lot has no effect, no conflict. any app running uses only ONE system file (IOS) at a time. other IOS are not interacting with the one currently used by the app.

restore (bootmii nand restore?) affects EVERYTHING. it's a full copy of the NAND at a specific time.

Ok ;)

How I can fix that unknown issue ?

Just to let you know, here is the list of wad recommended by bootmii I installed yesterday.

these wads are all good, these are all the latest version of everything you should at least have. there's nothing "too much" here.
(except maybe old hermes cIOS that nobody uses anymore, but keep them, some games might need them, you never know)

to fix your title issue, maybe you need to set the loader to use slot249, or 58, or nothing can fix it. I'm not sure.
that's not really a problem.

Ok ;)

Set the loader of usb loader gx ? You mean I just need to uninstall the forwarder and install it with mmm and select 249 before installing it ?

what? no

don't uninstall the forwarder, it has no problem.
you still don't understand how homebrew and the loader are working.

go into the loader's setting, and select the IOS (driver !) that the loader should use to function properly.
settings > loader's settings > Loader's IOS :

pick either 249, or 250, or 58, reboot and try again.

From what I remember building a new NAND with ModMii does leave out the console certificates. It's best to test NEEK enviroments with just nSwitch before adding anything to them. More than about 100 titles on it can render its system menu unbootable and as it is it takes forever the first time you boot it anyway. Also using the DI version can make it take longer to boot because it enumerates all of your /wbfs/ and /games/ titles, too.

I just change the loader to 58 and the issue is fixed :)

I like to understand, why does that trick fix that issue ?

IOS 58's USB driver might be more compatible than other versions. The IOSes are different firmware revisions like a PC BIOS.

maybe because HBC is already using IOS58 (now that you reinstalled it), so when you tell the loader to also use IOS58 it doesn't need to reload to another cIOS to check NAND and mount SD/USB at boot. it already has NAND access very early in the boot process.

Thats sound good :)

I also notice a little bug (or maybe its not a bug) usb loader gx seem to freeze when downloading cover if the connection of the wireless have some problems. Let me explain:

1.my routeur was set to auto choose which channel is using for 2.4ghz wireless
2.when trying to download covers with usb loader gx, it download somes but eventually freeze, I let it continue for hours and it never finish downloading, clicking cancel do nothing. I have to press reset on wii.
3. I have somes problems too while installing d2x, somes errors appear when d2x installer downloading the necessary files, tcp_timeout errors but eventually with many try it install completely successfully.

Then I set my router to use channel 11 and all the problems above solved!
d2x seem to be able to retry when it have tcp timeout but usb loader gx freeze (maybe it worth to make a fix for that ? because clicking cancel, do nothing)

Just to let you know ;)

Ok, from my tests, Sneek work perfectly with nand dump from usb loader gx.
I can also launch it from usb loader gx options WITHOUT the neek2o channel forwarder on the real nand.

Si it must be somehow the nand created by bootmii that have problems..

The only difference I can see for the moment between theses two nand, the one created with usb loader gx have all the cios because its a dump from my real nand ...

and I try to change back the loader of usb loader gx from 58 to 249 and the "Unknown" thing doesnt show anymore. It is like changed it to 58 act like a refresh or something ..anyway I changed it back to 58.

ah, I never thought about the wifi channel.
I never had that issue, and now that makes sense because I always setup my network with fixed values (no dhc, specific channel, etc.)
thanks for sharing that info.

I know the cover download function is not using the same source than other file download used by the loader. I'm not sure why (probably done by different devs, back when multiple devs worked on that project and it created a lot of conflicts).
Dimok took over the project and rewrote almost all of it in proper c++, but I'm sure he couldn't re-code everything alone. it's probably an old file, if I had time I'd update it to fix the non working cancel button and freeze issue.

thank you, thanks kind, but that won't be done before long, sorry.
I still have other things to comit I didn't do for 2 month, I don't think I'll have time to change something as big as download functions.

it's in sources/network/
- imageDownloader.cpp (which is written specifically for image/cover/custom banner download)
- while there is a download queue manager in FileDownloader.cpp + http.c which is probably better, it's used to download big files (like zip) in multiple chunk of memory, and check network and memory after each part, so you can cancel or it can automatically abort without freezing.

I updated http to work with SSL, but it had a memory leak bug, so I reverted to the simple non ssl version. if you find how to make ssl work that would be nice too haha :P
you'll have to rewrite a lot of http.c if you do, as the way it works now (read all the stream, then separate header and data) doesn't work with ssl, ending in endless downloading and filling all the loader's memory until crash/freeze.
it seems ssl doesn't know when the stream has ended, so you need to first get only the hearder, decypher it and find the data size, then download the remaining data from the stream until size is reached.

I think doing it by multiple small part would be better than reserving a memory of the image's size and fill it before saving the buffer to file.

I'll let you read the source and try by yourself.

I just make some tests and when I load a specific wii game, I have the message "the file cannot be used because the data is corrupted press A to delete" I press A and the message still there, I am in a loop. I try to delete the save file inside the emunand, same thing..

the save setting is set to FULL, I try partial, same error, Off, is ok.

any idea why ?

it usually happen when using emuNAND cIOS mode instead of neek mode.
If it happens in neek, it could be the NAND has a corrupted data (system file, not necessarily the savegame), or the game is checking the NAND size and if the partition is bigger than 2TB it could return a negative value.
Sometime, emuNAND work better on a smaller partition.

what you can try :
move your NAND dump folder to SD card.
launch the game (using cIOS mode, if possible, so you don't have to re-generate a neek file for SD).

If it doesn't work, try Sneek (for SD) :
generate sneek files, put on SD:/sneek/ folder
now you can use independently the SD or USB, the correct kernel.bin file will be used based on the path to the dump. (it will use the kernel.bin from the same partition)

If it still doesn't work, try making a new NAND dump on SD (put back your current full dump to USB first to not overwrite it) and install only that game. see if it works or not. Maybe that game has a bug, or a compatibility issue. region free is not always working !!! you might need specific NAND region for few games. USBLoaderGX and neek2o let you use multiple NAND from different regions all at once.
exemple:
/nand/pl_us/
/nand/pl_eu/
/nand/pl_jp/

I'll give more information if you need multiple nand. no need to make you worry about it for the moment.

You definitely mixing up cios emunand and Neek.
Those settings are for cios emunand and some games just don't work with cios emunand. It helps if you mention which games you are testing.

Jurassic The Hunted :)

So its better to set it to off so all the save games will work for every games ?

When I boot on emumand and go in wii settings, it say I have 2000 of free block, it doesn't supposed to show much more ? my hdd is 2TB

which setting are you using for that game?
EmuNAND channel : Full or Neek ?

Like I said, that error is usually when using "Full".

did you try to boot the emuNAND system menu using the "features > boot neek", then launch that game from the channel installed on the emulated system menu ? (not using USBLoaderGX's game autoboot option)
