This is why I say don't be so closed minded when talking about exploits. I get that there are some people who say dumb things about hacking tho. I am not in a hurry to hack my switch but just being able to see it hacked gives me a thrill. I can't wait to see where this goes!

Well if you have an update ready it means you are 3.0.0 or lower, so no worries.

That's not what I was implying. Nintendo doesn't mostly sell old games, so it doesn't matter.

Incorrect. Emulators are legal.

BIOS dumps of a console are illegal, that's protected software property. ROM dumps of your own games are also not illegal, sharing ROM dumps is illegal.

It's fact. Emulators aren't piracy. No matter how YOU want to word it. Playing illegally acquired roms or files? THAT is piracy.

Let me rephrase. Nintendo needs to sell its games right now, and if we care for it as a personal company giving us good games, we'd want to make sure they have smooth sailing after the disaster of what the Wii U was. Emulators and old consoles on the other hand, are not on sale by Nintendo any more, so that doesn't really matter now does it. The only thing I could think of is NEO-GEO games on the eshop, but those are too expensive and are dirty cash grabs, sooo yeah.

We are kind of going off topic now, which is my fault, would Nintendo be ok with any dumps regardless of where they originate, probably not, they DMCA shed loads of roms on sites everyday

I made my point, which is/was why sit on the please don't give us piracy but give us a way to play pirate roms is ok, when its pretty much the same

I have no interest in emulators. My work here is unrelated to running random ROMs I could have running on any number of mobile platforms with infinitely less hassle.

I am telling you legal definitions.

If I understood the exploit right, it is present in every firmware version till 3.0. So since you have a lower version, stay put, and wait, you never know what you might get at your current one. When the exploit goes public, then look into updating.

If it launches on 3.0.0, it will be the last. Don't be surprised if it's forced 3.0.1 with the patch on the cartridge. It hasn't hit retail/review yet so its going to be on pace with firmware updates.

If it launches with 3.0.1 on the cart, I predict a good number of threads of people crying about how they updated.
