I think if it is a Toshiba eMMC chip inside the console the dumped size is 29.7GB and if it is a Samsung eMMC chip inside the dumped size is 29.1GB.

My original Wiiu console mlc dump is 29.1GB (Samsung) and the console that I hardmoded is 29.7GB (Toshiba).

We can guess. Since MLC includes critical parts of Wii U (Mii Maker, System Settings and Wii U menu, other apps can shit itself...) so it's kinda needed when CBHC isn't a problem here.

1. If you have OTP, it's possible
2. Yeah, you can dump SLC from a dead Wii U
3. Nope, OTP is created on-request, meaning that if console is dead, it can't fulfill that request.

Here's the command to join your MLC files:

copy /b mlc.bin.part01 + mlc.bin.part02 + mlc.bin.part03 + mlc.bin.part04 + mlc.bin.part05 + mlc.bin.part06 + mlc.bin.part07 + mlc.bin.part08 + mlc.bin.part09 + mlc.bin.part10 + mlc.bin.part11 + mlc.bin.part12 + mlc.bin.part13 + mlc.bin.part14 + mlc.bin.part15 + mlc.bin

Obviously if you have a "mlc.bin.part16" you should add that on the end.

Thanks for pointing it out. Had Dimok on the brain cause I was working on the noob guide some more. Fixed. No need to be snarky. Simple mistake.

thanks. I'm dumping the mlc again, so this probably isn't necessary. I suspected it was the NAND chip that gives off a different size.

The slc.bin (WiiU NAND) should be 528MB (540,672KB)
The slccmpt.bin (vWii NAND) should be 528MB (540,672KB)
The mlc.bin (Storage NAND) should be 29.7GB (31,162,368KB) (Toshiba eMMC chip inside) or 29.1.GB for the Samsung eMMC chip inside.

does it matter if the NAND dump is made after installing cbhc? from my understanding, it doesn't matter since I believe @EyeKey made a tool to fix the slc dump, right?

That's correct. You can also use the teensy to dump mlc and then patch it but you'll need otp.bin to do so.

If you have an slc.bin dump before CBHC you don't need the otp.bin

Typo on my part. You only need slc to fix CBHC

I might just delete this mlc dump since the one with the fw.img should be complete anyway.

I also have slc.full.img which I dumped before CBHC that is 524,288kb, how can I convert that to bin?

I think u need to fix that slc. the correct size is 540,672. u can do this with Eyekey's tools. they're on this forum somewhere.

Thanks @godreborn , I fixed my slc.full.img with nandfixer but now when I flash it I'm getting:
Error: file is 21000000 bytes long and last block is 84021000
I don't think I'll be able to flash it until NANDway properly recognizes my NAND.
