Why are we concerned about homebrew? Why are we concerned about possible entry points and exploits? Why are we concerned about anything?

Wondering if the Switch is worth making anything for, whether homebrew or otherwise, is valid.
Homebrew: I follow that and it's worth following.

Switch exploits: I follow that too. There's nothing real yet though.

Why are we concerned about anything?: I'm mostly concerned about the pineapple upside-down cake I'll be eating after dinner.

People should either use their PCs or a Shield TV for their Gamecube needs. The Wii U can play these games natively as well, most tablets can't even handle above PSX very well for the most part either.
or even go as far as BenHeck a wii to make it portable ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Not sure if ppsspp gonna be possible to port, the switch is a nvidia shield tv with tegra x1 but different o.s. For android it performs well on heavier games like god of war.
Retroarch is an extremely multiplat emulator, so it should be doable. i'm sure retroarch would even add a ppsspp core, lel.. it'd probably be terrible though

So since the Switch is ARM and Android we know it going to hacked soon? Is that what this tread is about? Does someone have Android root access yet? What kernel of Android is it running?
switch isn't android. it's been confirmed to be an upgraded version of the 3ds OS

That's what I thought before I read this thread. If the Switch isn't Android and isn't remotely hacked and Nintendo isn't going to allow homebrew then why are we concerned about dev interest?
what's wrong about theorizing for homebrew when it does get hacked?

The Wii can't handle PSX very well, only a handful of games work, and those that do are rife with graphical issues and really bad sound emulation.

i can live without PSX, i meant as a portable gamecube/wii solution, considering GC compatability on the wii is almost 100%, select few being those that require an addon for the gamecube itself

as for dolphin on the switch.. i doubt it'll be a thing, at least until more optimizations are done, or if nintendo makes an official VC... which i doubt considering the switch doesn't have analog triggers from what i've heard

As of a few months ago, Nintendont can launch every single commercial game as far as I know, and it's more akin to a virtual machine (compatibility layer) than actual emulation. Everything from NES to GBA, the Wii can handle full speed :P

lets face facts the switch is ARM based but in no certain way is it android based so even with an exploit every emulator possible would need to be written from the ground up and that people could take a development quite along time i dont recall seeing to many ARM based consoles besides the 3ds and if this full rewrite of the systems Os we could be talking about a whole new beast of a platform to write for i mean at present just how big of a rewrite we talking about here

I would love to see a ppsspp emulator on switch to be honest I don't see it not working.
It's already out man, simply download the latest nightly Retroarch for switch and you will find it.

PS: Also the DS emulator Desmume runs some games really great, like Pokemon mystery dungeon, very pleased with the results!
