I have a multitude of hex editors:
general: hex workshop, x ways forensics and xvi32.

small: virtual dub inbuilt (not any use for rom hacking really), notepad++ inbuilt (I use this for turning end of lines into standard characters and stuff).

rom hacking:
crystaltile2, an exceptional Chinese app. It would be in English but I have not got it to build yet (MS Visual studio 2003 Â with MFC is what it needs):

Take your pick of the ones here:

Hexposure, translhextion WindHex32 are definitely worth a look (try getting a custom character set on hex workshop an you will see why)

im here to help! 4 years of japanese in college should be enough みんな がんばって!

EDIT: is there anyone checking these translations? there isnt info on the wiki page. there are alot of inconsistency and errors i can spot pretty quickly. probably scares away many people who want to help translate (maybe me?)

I started transcribing it the other night (cleaning it up every so slightly) and I noticed what you were on about ngiahz, I will say the plan is to translate and then clean it up.

This being said offers of translation assistance are immensely appreciated, if you want to either finish it or offer alternatives (the reason it is above 100% for some files lblk32) to what we already have that would be great. It is up to you what you do but chr_b_t.bin and chr_s_t.bin are probably the most urgent (and biggest), the other can probably be done without translation.

If you think that a translation is wrong, you can add another one, and the system allows other translators to vote the one they like best.
