They would just ban the spoofed deviceID, not the real one. Still, it's a crap fix.

It may not be permanent so evading a temporary ban could very well lead to a more effective permanent ban. But yes, if 15 days elapse and the ban is still in place then I agree there's nothing to lose.
all it needs is a random generator however with the number of consoles; there would always be a chance at a duplicate CID with a valid consumer
as long as you didn't play the game pre release in your area; then no one will tell its a CFW or a freeshop copy
I did the same. I'm having to redownload all my purchased stuff again through the eshop but oh well. If I can't get my NNID back at least it works on Wii U.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
