Looks fun! Loved symphonia and one of the snes ones. Haven't played since abyss, and that's the only game i've ever returned because i disliked it that much. Hopefully this is more fun than that game and is not written by an 6 year old.

I'm leery after Tales of Zestiria, it wasn't a bad game but it didn't hold a candle to most of the other tales games (still better than Xillia 2 tho). I think I'm gonna wait and not pre-order this time.

Well I mean it depends on the genre and the devs, visual novels run really well on pc... *cough* as you'd imagine that they would. There's also some strategy games that do well as well as bullet hell games. I think the main issue with japanese devs is porting stuff from console to pc (and far less often, from pc to console) and I would attribute that mostly as cultural differences in gaming behaviors which would then translate to different priorities for PC ports.

For Berseria specifically, if they use the same people who did their Zestiria port (who attempted to get the game running at 60 but were constrained for time supposedly), we should be fine. (we're screwed if they use the same people they used for symphonia)
But yeah >_> some preeeeetty terrible japanese pc ports out there, but they seem to be getting better at least.
Well if they are making a game for a console, just be lucky if they make it for the one you have. If they making game for pc is obvious is meant to be for pc. That is why exclusives are important. To be honest is more work and money to get everything right, not to mention player expectations and all. Not all developers have access to talented programmers for multiconsole ports like some people do, for whatever reason.

Actually you have it backwards. But before I trigger another console vs PC debate I'll leave it at that.
Hmm nah. There are more reasons to own a PC than a console.

Nah, didn't take me too long. Was busy with other stuff. Didn't require much thought at all, I am a Tales of Fangirl after all ^_^
I take issue with saying that symphonia's battles were 2d being how your allies and enemies would freely move around unlike you who wouldn't be able to do so freely until Abyss introduced free run.

GRADE points are actually a little like zesty, in that they serve a purpose other than GRADE shop. Here they allow your characters to learn skills from equipment. I don't think outside... phantasia? the max level was ever higher than 250, it's been a nice 200 mostly.
What are you talking about? You need to (iirc) hold the R button for freemove. That wasn't new to Abyss.

I've been meaning to get into this series for a while, now. I started playing the PS1 version of Phantasia, figuring it would be best to start at the beginning. It's a lot of fun, but I haven't played it for a while due to real life stuff coming up, as well as some issues with my 3DS that I was using to emulate it. (Nothing too bad. I just let the batteries run dead, and BrowserHax isn't the most convenient way to get the custom firmware back up and running. I really should switch to a more convenient method, but A9LH takes so damn long to set up and I really don't want to brick my system. I used to have a Cubic Ninja copy, but I misplaced it somewhere and have no idea where it is.)

Apparently I'm in a bit of trouble. I didn't realize these games came out as often as they did. I figured since it's such a big-name series, there was a length of time comparable to stuff like Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts. Apparently they're releasing new games faster than I get around to playing them! (I started playing Phantasia at about the same time that the previous game came out)

The games usually have nothing to do with each other - no point in playing them in order.

EVERYONE owns a pc VERY FEW people own a GAMING pc. Why are people so dense? I will ALWAYS prefer console over PC so please kindly STFU already. Why does anyone care what the other person plays on? so weird.

Anyway these games are pushed out like COD now they have lost quality.

Wow awfully hostile much? Not even sure if you're responding to me.

You don't need a gaming PC to play PC games. Why are people so dense? There are many laptops these days aimed at business class which can play games with the new Intel HD 5k series. (There is a new integrated series too but can't recall) Not every PC game is a Doritos bro FPS or online game which requires heavy-duty hardware. While you're playing on non-forward compatible hardware, i'll be playing the latest games. I will ALWAYS prefer PC over console so please kindly STFU already. Why does anyone care what the other person plays on? so weird.

Can't wait. Hopefully it won't be a disappointment like Tales of Zestiria with 90% of the resources thrown into the water quality.
