Why not try to setup the desmume wifi to test if your router let's you connect? It's fairly easy.

Yep, I did reset my wifi profile. However, I didn't know I could only connect once, and that might be whats messing me up (except I get one of the errors the first time I try to test the connection so irdk).

Its pretty much doing the same thing my action replay did. Either I'm doing something wrong (most likely, haha) or maybe my router wont accept it (and if thats the case, maybe i can configure something so it will?)
Btw, I did patch the rom before I ran it

I see. I figure since it didn't work with desmume then it should be a problem with your router or your internet connection. You could try portforwarding the specified ports.

Also, as a note on the ds, I seem to remember that if you're using a dsi you can't have your setup done via the system menu. It has to go via a game and obviously can't use the dsi wpa capability. In addition, I don't remember exactly, but I seem to remember that desmume needed to use either the patched ROM or the cheat code. The safest game to test is MKDS since pokemon has some extra stuff concerning wfc connection.

Furthermore, you could try to talk to people via the chat you can find on the bottom of altwfc page on github. People are helpful there. There's a way to check if anyone is playing wfc there too.

I'm starting this project in response to the announcement of Nintendo Wi-Fi servers shutting down in May. Eventually this project hopes to have enough information so myself or other hackers have enough information to reverse engineer the Nintendo Wi-Fi servers and make emulated servers to live long after the May 20th cutoff date. What I plan to do is until the servers get shut down, is collect as many packet dumps from as many of these games as I can. That is where you can come in.

Right now we only have a little less than three months to gather data on all the games being shut down. Pure manpower is needed at this point, because a lot of games are going away and although initial analysis seems to indicate games use very similar protocols, there might be some differences between games we'll have to save and document.

If you have a capable router and one of the games being shut down, you can help. I have a guide on how to configure a DD-WRT or Tomato router on the project page, and it is possible to get packet logs from emulators as well. If someone can contribute a guide for that that would be really helpful to get people on.

Goals right now:
* Get packets from as many games as possible before it goes down, with focus on games we don't have any information on yet.

Could someone please pick the Lock Capsule event in his HGSS copy from the server and post his .sav file here?
I'd like to get it too.
Otherwise, is there a way to connect to the server using an emulator?

You can use an emulator to do it, so just google desmume wfc and try it ;-)

Alright im trying out altwifi forthe first time I was going to test if it worked on mario kart ds then I would get it up on all the pokemon games for ds pokemon diamond, platinum, soulsilver, black, and white2 but I ran into a problem when I set it up it gave me error 52000 meaning it couldn't get my ip address so when this happened I wondered what I did wrong did I put the action replay code in wrong did it not work because im using physical ds hardware and an action replay I don't have the ability to create my own roms so it could be something on my part because I used a rom downloaded offline but I thought it would work as long as its in my region so I looked up the error since I thought there was no help I could get and the instructions and information nintendo gave on there website didn't help at al it just led me to another error

People don't like reading paragraphs that go on and on and on and on and on did I say on and on and also let me mention they go on for way too long far too long like wow can you see how much emphasis I'm putting in my language with all the grammar I'm not using it's literally insane I really wish whoever is reading this would just fill in the punctuation for me instead of being a lazy snob and pointing it out because clearly it's not my responsibility as a comment author to communicate in a normal way for others to understand me ok I'm going to go now thank you for reading P.S. I know its really shitty for me to say but I have bad punctuation skills for me alot of the things that I have to add 4o my sentances or paragraphs are either confusing or I dont know how to properly use them usually try to avoid this because I just want to get trough it al really fast and not have to do this and yeah I know its lazy of me to not go back in and just do t but I wouldn't know what the hell im doing and yeah I do know that people dont like reading big unedited and uncomperhensable paragraphs

I did a quick ordering of your comment. Anyways, the 52200 error is usually what you get when trying to connect multiple times without turning your DS of in between. Still, if you get that error the first time when trying to connect then it is caused by something else.

Most likely you've input the code wrong in your Action Replay. Have you used it with other cheats you've input?

I don't know what you mean by rom downloaded offline. Do you mean online? Most ROMs online work, I think the only one I've stumbled upon that doesn't work is the (E) of DQIX.

There is a troubleshoot page on the altwfc page too, but generally you should double-check your wifi setup with the DNS and all that. You could try setting up a wfc connection with Desmume and see if you get it working on your internet, just to see whether it's your connection or your hardware.

Thanks ill try out the code on an emulator and see what happens and what I mean by downloaded a rom offline is I went to downloaded a English us rom or (u) and then I generated a code for mario kart It could be possible that I put the code in wrong so I'll try that again and lastly I tried to connect by taking my home internet and adding the dns which did not work

You should remove that name of the page where you got the rom fast cuz it'll probably get you banned...

As I said earlier, find an action replay code like infinite lives or unlock everything for the game you are trying to make work. This is to see if you are inputing the code right.

Alright I did all of this over and I got it working on the emulator but not the actual game which probably means that the rom is the problem which is a problem because I can't dump my own ds roms that are guaranteed to work with my game is there any way I can get trough this with out buying a flash cart

I don't think I understand what situation you're in. It sounds to me like you're trying to get the ROM on your flashcard working, and that your ROM works in your DS emulator..

But if that's the case, just use the same ROM that you used in your emulator.

And even still, you said you're trying to do this without buying a flashcard, so... That means you don't have a flashcard. In which case your legit games are as legit as you'll get.

The rom you have gotten should work, but actually when I think about it MKDS has problems with wfc when being used on emulator so you're better off trying another game. Right off the bat, I remember Sega all stars racing and Sonic Colors to work on emulator.

As said earlier, I know for a fact that I've played with people with your same setup so it should work. Unfortunately, since I don't have it myself I can't go much into detail explaining you. You might be able to find help on the rizon chat of altwfc which you can find a link to on the bottom of their page:
