Strange, I just double checked now and it works for me.

Of course, there's a black screen for a short while as it boots the emuNand.

Just deleted and replaced all files again to be extra sure, lol. I believe it's that darned HBL cia again, as I just tested and it works fine if I load HBL from ctrbootmanager after first boot & then ReiNand from there - but get an infinite black screen if I try loading ReiNand after loading HBL from the cia.

Time to start posting about it's issues in the proper plane. :P
Edit: Added the issues to the git
Edit: Closed the black screen issue. Thanks suloku.

@D34DL1N3R are you trying to boot reinand from HBL launched from hbl launcher cia? If you are, of course it won't work since you are already under Reinand. There's actually no way to exit 3dsx homebrew without rebooting the console, either in sysnand or emunand modes what you need to do is reboot.

Well, on sysnand you can launch a game trough region4, then press home button, but that would be sysnand, never emunand (launching using region4 disables emunand and reinand).

So on the issue of the HBL cia randomly booting to Download Play, the issue was closed by yellow8 with the following comment:

Process-takeover randomly failing has nothing to do with hblauncher_loader itself.
https://github.com/smealum/ninjhax2.x

What exactly is being said? That it's a ninjahax issue and I should open the issue there? Or...?

EDIT: NEVERMIND, I figured it out.
How exactly do I get this to work? I tried placing the new boot.3dsx on the root of my sd card and renamed it to what I use for my HBL. I use the HBL CIA. When I click my HBL CIA it loads like its about to go to HBL, but then it freezes on the pixel/black screen as it boots. Any help?

Sorry if I sound like a complete noob but how does this thing work? I watched the video showcase on youtube and it is completely different from what I get. I make folders and it refuses to see them. The little box on the left side of the top screen that shows what folder you are in isn't there. Pressing L and R does nothing at all and most of the toolbar doesn't work either. What am I doing wrong?

Because you can't just make folders and it detects them. You have to edit the config.xml and add the folders in there too! I suggest you download Notepad++, as it actually has the line organized correctly, making editing these types of files easier. Also, your config.xml and theme.xml have to be in your 3ds folder AND in a folder in /3ds called .hbl, unfortunately though, windows won't let you make a folder starting with a "." , so I edited the boot.3dsx in HxD and changed the 2 parts with /.hbl to /_hbl. Hope this helps.

Edit: Also, create the default folders the config has too, unless you don't want those, in which case delete them from the config

Wait, AND? It should be either one or the other, one location taking priority (can't remember one right now though). In fact I only use the ones in .hbl.

I actually didn't think about that fact, I may have created the folder with ftp server or within the 3ds itself with ctrxplorer... sorry about that, I added the option have config files and hans files in /3ds/.hbl mostly for myself and did not realize that windows limitation.[/QUOTE]

I should add some kind of folder autodetection via filename... I think gridlauncher has a "folder selector" that adds them to configuration. Or do gridlauncher folders go inside /gridlauncher and then gridlauncher detects them?

@suloku That would be cool! I'm not sure how gridlauncher works, as I've never use it. I heard there is a way to use this in combo with gridlauncher and others..? Do you know how that works?
As far as the folder naming thing, it's fine, just something I discovered myself when setting this all up. It happens, no worries. :P
And for the location of the xml files, I think they do have to be in both, as mine didn't work until I did that. Maybe it was the way I was setting it up, but that's why I originally posted for help a page or so ago, but then edited my post saying that I figured it out.

I just checked, config files work fine being either in /3ds/.hbl/ OR /3ds/. Don't know what your problem might have been :(

- Updated to support ninjhax's 2.6 return to home menu.
- Theme randomization is now toogle with "SELECT" (X is used to return to home menu)

ps: works with cfw, at least reinand.

I forgot to mention that previously in the config/reboot menu X was used to toogle random themes. To keep consistency with official hbl, this has been changed to SELECT (alternatively you can touch to toogle too)

What do you mean? I haven't updated anything, and works fine for me under 2.6 hax.

Are you trying to run it under cfw using hbloader cia? If you are, do you have set it as boot.3dsx or do you use some bootmanager like ctrbootmanager?

you don't? lol
I think the problem is lesshax payload so
I'm formatting my emunand now here for other reasons
after that I will test in HBloader cia and update here
(I use ctrbootmanager)

Rememer that if you have ctrbootmanager and autoboot, when launching hbloader CIA it will launch by default boot.3dsx, and attempting to load a cfw under cfw will crash. If you had a custom payload for hbloader cia that booted something that wasn't boot.3dsx, remember to re-edit the payload when updating emunand's firmware (I'm saying this due to the recently released 10.6).
