confirm if the files are correct. did you check md5?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

reading again yout first post...
did you tried to do a complete emunand setup and load any CFW?

IF ur answer is NO, could u try this first?
cuz if u can load cfw and play everything so, u can let it quiet.
if not, can try to upgrade or do the downgrade again
just remeber, downgrade with safesysupdater only 10.3 (I saw somewhere that safesysupdater was build to downgrade from 10.3)

EmuNAND9 would not run under HBL, it'd just return back to HBL when I tried to run it, so I assumed it wouldn't work, unless there's something I'm missing.

Anyways I confirmed my 10.3 files were correct and were in the right folder, but sysUpdater throws a "Failed to get CIA file info!" error when I select "update" :/

You should really stop spreading missinformation:

  • PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HAVE THE SAME DOWNGRADE CODE THAN ORIGINAL SYSUPDATER

I did, go ahead and read the first page.

He just decided to ignore my suggestions...

Ok, calm down.

What you think he have to do?
downgrade again with safesysupdater or regular sysupdater?
upgrade to 10.3 and downgrade again?

I think he would try to launch emunand9 after these steps> hbl>pasta cfw> hbl> fbi> install fbi.cia and devmenu if he have it then launch emunand9.
press select to unmount sd card, backup everything except updates folder > put sd back then press B to return and finally try the option "complete setup emunand"

What do I think he should try to do?

Try to use any CFW, if any of them fail, you can update using a game cardtridge instead.

Updating using a sysupdater app just to try to downgrade again is asking for a softbrick since you already had some issues attemping a downgrade before.

So best thing to do:

1)Update using a game cardtridge.

2)Get a hardmod and dump your nand.

3)Feel free to keep trying to downgrade.

At this point a softbrick will render your system unhackable if you don't have a nand dump.

I might be going on a wrong assumption, but let's say you failed to install all the older 9.2 .cia's, yet you can still run *hax and get to sysUpdater/SafeSysUpdater. Why don't you attempt a downgrade again? I mean with the same files used to downgrade to 9.2. It should install the older files regardless of the ones you currently have, no? In that case, it'd be going from a half-9.2 half-10.3 hybrid to full 9.2.

Of course, as others stated, first try to run Pasta CFW, flash FBI's cia, then run EmuNAND9 and make a sysNAND backup.

I didn't ignore your suggestions, I was just hoping there would be a better solution, as I don't have access to 3DS games at the moment. I did read your advice and my friend said it was a good suggestions, I'm not doubting you know what you're talking about.

Thanks to all of you, actually, for giving me an idea on what I should do. Since I couldn't update to 10.3, I decided to test my luck and downgraded again to 9.2 via SafeSysUpdater. Only this time, it was a success, I am now on 9.2 without a failed downgrade!

This has actually happened to me before if that makes you feel better. It froze on me and I was like, "SHIT! DON'T YOU DARE BRICK ON ME!" I waited about 10 minutes (Just to be sure) before rebooting. When I rebooted HBL and did the sysupdater again, everything went smooth

After successfully downgrading, downgrade-check now looks like this:

8LEN7PY.jpg

However, I was told I was fine, so I should be all set now. Thanks again everybody!

What did you use to update to 10.3? From what firmware you update to 10.3?

I just tried sysUpdater to go to 10.3 and I had gotten an error stating "failed to get CIA file information" or something along those lines. update was in updates folder in root of microSD and I used the update option when running
So you skipped the below after failed?

For anyone who is having a similar problem and happens upon this; DO NOT update via cartridge as suggested by @Tony_93 (and others?)

Cartridge updates are not full updates. They do not update eshop, the browser or AGB FIRM, among other things.

If you're in a similar situation as OP and find yourself half downgraded, there's a really good chance that some of the titles that failed to install during the downgrade process won't be installed with the cartridge update.

This will mean you're still on a "neither here nor there", Franken-firmware. This could lead to unintended consequences in the future, worst case scenario you could "randomly" brick your device at some point down the line.

The best way to deal with a Franken-firmware is to update or downgrade to your target firmware again. I'd personally recommend the former, though OP was successful doing the latter.

The right way to do this is to load up mini-pasta or rxTools' pasta mode, then update using sysupdater.
