Attempted a hardmod on my non-XL USA N3DS and having some issues. I thought all my joints were connected properly, but when I powered on, my N3DS would stay black (no sign of the monitor coming on) with the blue light on for a couple of seconds before the whole thing shut off. If I connected my SD and plugged the SD into my USB adapter (the one I used for my older hardmodded console) then the blue light comes on for about a second and shuts off immediately after, suggesting connecting actually changed something.
Here is a series of pics I took of my soldering points. I desoldered the black wire (GND) to show what was under it (pic 182): I'm unsure if the point was even a good spot (based it off the blueprints I found) and also wondering if I fried it, and whether or not I can salvage it/it didn't cause permanent damage and if I can find a different point to solder.

In pics 175 and 176, there are two small ribbon cables which I also couldn't get to shut entirely: I don't feel like I broke it, nor do I remember the cable lock being that loose as I was disassembling the 3DS, either.
EDIT: If it helps any, I have a multimeter, but have absolutely no clue how to use it (particularly, where I should be testing and at which voltage level)
EDIT2: Actually, I realized my C-stick wasn't in. I re-soldered the black wire to the supposed "ground" (assuming the point I'm using really is a ground...) and tried to be very careful connecting everything back. Now, the blue light comes on again. Just before it turns off, the
bottom screen only flashes for about a frame or two, then shuts off along with the blue light.
EDIT3: Not really sure what I did, but I managed to get the blue screen to appear for one frame on the bottom screen only for about a frame with the sd card connected. Without it, the screen is just black, with a longer time before the blue light shuts off... Does that mean my solder job worked and I have a bad ribbon connection somewhere?
