Hardware NAND Hardmod on an o3ds

I have 2 questions:

1. How can I take the game card slot off of the motherboard safety?

2. On all of the 3ds XL's I've seen, there has been the Dat0, CMD, CLK and "ground". Where is the ground on the non-XL o3ds?

1: Why do you need to take it off?

1) You'd need a hot air rework station and some experience using it. I'd not try to do it with a regular hot air gun. The PCB is kinda cramped with components, you need precision. Also, there might be plastic details in the cart slot that won't stand the heat.

I might come off as an ass, but as you need to ask where to find a ground spot, I doubt you have the experience you need to do that operation safely, even with the right tools. I'd strongly advise against doing it.

2) The metal shielding on the cart slot (or any other RF shield, seems to be a few of those on the 3DS mobo) is definitely grounded. Anything electrically connected to it will do. Use the shield as a reference, and test any spots you find suitable for continuity with a multimeter. If you got continuity, you can use that spot.

Sorry for the late reply, my phones sim card broke

1. The CLK pin out is located under the gamecard slot on an o3ds, and
2. In the tutorial I was following, the person was actually referring to the GND, he told me in a PM.

EDIT: Under a closer inspection it seems that the game card slot may be purely soldered on, meaning I might be able to take it off with a soldering iron?

You can also get CLK from the other side of the motherboard.

But that involves having to remove the motherboard blah blah blah... The game card slot is only held on by the 3 solder points anyway, so it is easy to remove

Um... Sure, the shielding is held on by 3 points, but there are quite a few pins that need to be desoldered as well. They are the ones that make connection to all those pins on the bottom of the 3DS cartridge. Thats also not to mention the 2 on the side that detect when the game is inserted.
