I've tried searching, google and gbatemp. Found some links. Some were down, some didn't work on the wii and some didn't work the way I wanted them to.

What I'm looking for is either:
Wads: to run directly off of the wii so no sd card is required
or
Wads+Channel

Could someone please help me. I'm looking for
SNES
NES
Sega Genesis
Gameboy

Thanks

You might be able to have the emulator installed as a channel, but the roms need to be on external storage. Why are you against using an sd card?

Thanks SickPuppy
Sorry I didn't mean that I'm against using SD card. I'm okay with either wad or channel+forwarder

With emulators I prefer to install them to the SD card because that's where I put the roms. Others may use a usb device. I think you can also load the roms from your pc using SMB shares. There are forwarders that you can install to the Wii, which will install a channel on the wii menu and load the emulator from external device or SD card. The three tantric nintendo emulators should have channel installers, I don't know if there is a channel installer for the sega emulator.

edit, I found the links to the channel installers, run these chanel installers from the homebrew channel. The channel installers are just forwarders and you will still need the emulator application on the sd card.

snes - https://github.com/dborth/snes9x-gx/releases
gba - https://github.com/dborth/vba-wii/releases

You are installing to a Wii right? These installers are not to be used on vWii/Wii U.

Hey guys. Everything works but Genplus, using the forwarder. I can load directly from SD but not from the forwarder. Could anyone help me out? I tried different versions and no luck

Thanks!

At this point I'd recommend the newest version of RetroArch. The Genplus core has seen quite a bit of work done to it, and most of the other cores are pretty well optimized for the Wii.

Thanks for the quick reply tecXero but still didn't work. I can load the genesis_plus_gx directly from SD, but the forwarder doesn't work

The forwarder points to:

SD:/apps/genplusgx/boot.dol
SD:/apps/genplusgx/boot.elf
USB:/apps/genplusgx/boot.dol
USB:/apps/genplusgx/boot.elf

I suspect (and it's a common problem) you need to rename the folder, by the looks of things you'll need to remove the underscores ;)

Sorry for the late reply sickpuppy

What I meant was if I saved virtualconsoles on the SD card and wanted a channel forwarder. Instead of going manually. Wii Settings --> Channels
