So I'm trying to install the mset exploit, followed these instructions:
"Choose your Region and copy the created msetdg.bin file to the root of your SDCard. After that open the browser and go to launch.rxtools.net. Then hold R and go to Other Options->Downgrade MSET on SysNAND. After it finished shutdown your 3DS and turn it on again. Open the 3DS Camera with L and R. Scan this qrcode. This will install the rxtools mset exploit. Wait until it says “An error has occured” and then reboot your 3DS. Now go to Settings->User Settings->DS Profile Settings and hold R."
It does all of that, but the exploit doesn't load when i click on the DS profile. From what I read it sounded like this would install and work regardless of your sysnand version if installed through the rxtools menu, but does it matter, do i have to actually downgrade the sys firmware? I'm on 7.1.0-10 and used the 4.x msetdg file. I tried the 6.x msetdg first but rxtools said bad downgrade or something, the 4.x one went through ok so I assumed it worked.

ninjhax 1.1 itself did not let us get kernel access.
In fact 'Brahma' gave us a kernel access via different exploits.

so, smea's tweet is not quite wrong, but that does not mean we can get kernel access on recent firms.
Since 9.3, these exploits are already patched.

Yeah thats what I thought, but smealum is obviously alluding to the fact that if the CFWs were better coded they would work
Even if it is possible, it is not likely that those exploits get released as an open-source. At least until gateway or other flashcard team release >=9.3 support.
Works with better coded on ninjhax 2.0 firm 9.0-9.2, in newer firms we need a new kernel exploit.
This. If you format sysnand with a downgraded MSET (4.5 definitely... don't remember about 6.x MSET), you will not be able to link your NNID again, will you? Or will entering the eshop launch the NNID applet?
If you try to buy or download something that requires an NNID it will ask you to launch the NNID applet and then you can enter your NNID info.
