Anyone else having issues with cover downloading? Seems to just freeze up when attempting to grab the first one. Need to restart the Wii and nothing downloads.

EDIT: And...now it's working again. Fun. :)

^I know you're busy and you have a life, I don't mean to rush you or nag about it, it's alright if you don't want to add a cache option, I guess my brother nagging every time when we start up the Wii for he's being insanly impatient is my biggest issue with this.

Thank you for all the work, Cyan, and I apologize for repeating this but so far it's working fine for me, I didn't come across any issue!

that's not that I don't want to do it.
I saw a video where it took 30sec (or more) to display games at startup. I understand that it would be useful.

Does using filters helps in increasing loading speed?
maybe it's still the same as it needs to load all titles first before filtering them.
The only speed up you can do for the moment is to load only Wii or Gamecube, not both at the same time, to limit the number of games.

When I'll work on it, I hope you'll still be there :P
as I don't have enough games to see this slow loading effect.

edit:
Are your path all using GameID in the folder name?
it's supposed to speed up the boot time as it doesn't require to mount the ISO, seek to the GameID, close the IOS, repeat for each game.
if you have the [GameID6] in the path it should help.
If you already have it for all your games then it's really bad, it really need a cache system.

USBLoaderGX r1250, with neek2o support.
I hope everything is working fine.

If everything works fine (let's say for a week?), I'll update the internal update menu to download this version. 1250 is a fine round number. it would be great if everything works for this version.

here the things I tested:

neek2o r96 + USB + Wii : Autoboot working. System menu working. hidden menu working. launching channels working.
neek2o r96 b9.6 + USB + Wii : autoboot working. System menu working. Glitch hidden menu working. launching channels working.
neek2o r96 b9.6 + USB + vWii : autoboot working. System menu working. No hidden menu. no installed channels displayed (but it's doing the same with nswitch).
neek2o r13 + USB + Wii : autoboot working. System menu working. Hidden menu working. (don't remember about launching channels)
neek2o r13 + USB + vWii : autoboot not working. System menu working. Hidden menu working. no installed channels displayed. No channel can be launched from system menu.

Things untested:
neek2o on SD. (you will get a warning if trying to use SD, but can still launch the game to test)
EmuNAND channel with "use global" and the global set to Full and EmuNAND save set to OFF.
I rushed and forgot to test the french language file before commit. maybe it has too long strings.

Please report any issues with Wii game booting (I tested neek a lot, but I could have break Wii and gamecube)
test the emuNAND channel "use global" to verify it's using the correct global option. there were a bug where individual EmuNAND Channel setting set to "use global" were reading the global EmuNAND Save settings instead of the channel. I think I fixed it, but I didn't test so maybe I broke it instead of fixing it.

Let me know if you have issue with NAND dumping with different path. (I tested it, it should work as expected)

Thank you for the release Cyan, unfortunately I can't test it this week so it'll have to wait a little "with installing games and testing stuff this could take another week" so I might be late to report, I hope others get to test it before me though, good luck with the project.

I have a question though, are there any plans to add cheat support for EmuNAND? If so I'll just use EmuNAND with global channels, otherwise I'll have to set it to each game individually, which a lot of games need it.

emuNAND you mean with the cios method (partial/full) or with neek method? (because all of them are emuNAND)

cIOS method, wiiflow works so there's a possible fix. I don't know what's wrong, except that the addresses are different.
neek method, I'll add it. I need to add a way to edit neek settings from the loader instead of using the hidden menu.

Great news! But let me ask you, what do you mean by that? When I tried it the channels installed on emuNAND were displayed with USBLOADER GX (not on the emuNAND itself agree. But they could be launched from within the loader.
Has that changed? Or did I misunderstood what you meant?

I was talking about neek but if it can be fixed in cIOS then even better, thank you!

svn didn't update the googlecode correctly and forgot some files, so there are different upload for the same content.
1248-1249-150 are all the same.

neek2o r96 b9.6 + USB + vWii : autoboot working. System menu working. No hidden menu. no installed channels displayed (but it's doing the same with nswitch).

Maybe you don't understand what I meant.
what I mean is :
Autoboot : whether you can you launch a game listed on USBLoaderGX with neek option, and had Neek autoboot that game. (it's not USBGX which boot the game, it's neek!)
System menu : whether you can launch neek without autoboot (and you will arrive at the neek emulated System menu)
Hidden menu : Whether the neek overlay menu appears when pressing 1 or 2 on wiimote when on Neek system menu
Installed channel displayed : whether you can see the manually/additionnaly/wad installed channel on the Neek system menu.

I never mentionned "inside USBLoaderGX", I was talking about neek compatibility, which means "after launching neek from the loader, what happens?".

So, like you said:
- the Titles were displayed inside USBLoaderGX.
- You can launch them (autoboot is working : yes)
- You can launch neek without selecting a game (without autoboot) (boot to neek system menu : yes)
- You can't see them on the neek system menu (installed channel are displayed : no)

So, for everyone, the best setup is : Wii + USB (sd untested) + Neek2o r96
if you really want to use vWii : vWii + USB + r96 b9.6, but you can only use it to autoboot games. You can't go to system menu and launch any other non-system channel from there. It's best to enable "return to: ON" on vWii to never go to system menu, as there's nothing you can do there (except set hacks like region free, video mode, Wii settings and data management, etc.)
But I had issue with the hidden overlay menu not displayed on vWii with this version. maybe I did something wrong.

I don't like the idea, and don't think it's really necessary.
What do you mean by "no has any sneek config to change between nands directly" ?

I recommend to use "EmuNAND : Full" for all compatible games, set "EmuNAND : Full" in the global settings.
Then, ONLY for the non compatible games (castlevania, lit maybe?, toki tori, you me and the cube, N64 VC), set individual settings "EmuNAND : Neek".
And you never ever have to change the settings again :)
All is good for all your needs. no need to switch neek globally based on the game you want to launch, There's an individual setting for that reason.

I have a (not sure if) bug to report:

There seem to be issues regarding config on USB and on SD. I made a clean install of USB Loader GX and, everytime I booted the loader with a SD card on, it created new default config files with all paths set to SD. I had to boot it without the SD card, go to the "Custom Paths" menu and set all of them. After that, I booted with an SD card on and it worked correctly.

Also, the loader doesn't seem to create a "titles" folder for wiitdb.xml, so when you try to download it it says "Cannot Write to Destination". I had to create the folder manually.

The firs issue is not one. (or maybe I didn't understood your report correctly)
if you don't have any settings, the loader is using the first partition if finds to create the settings. if you have a SD card inserted it's using it as first/default path for all your settings.
if you already have a setting file on any of the available partition it uses it. but if you have one on SD and one on USB, the one on SD will have priority. (SD, usb partition 1, partition 2, ... partition 8)

report 2:
I thought it was fixed on 1247. someone reported it.
by the look of the sources, the "titles/" folder should be created automatically.
I didn't test it myself, so maybe there are still really an issue.

Hi cyan.
I've Installed castlevania rebirth in emunand with showmiwad, changed the option in usbgx so castlevania load on neek mode.
It Works, thanks.

But when in game i click on home and return to menu it return to sneek menu, is it possible to return to usbgx?
If yes how to do it?

Thanks

yes it's possible.
You need to install a channel on your EmuNAND: neek2o or nswitch channel.

The channel need to have TitleID "NK2O"

Already created channels can be found in wad format. for example : http://code.google.com/p/custom-di/downloads/list
Pick one, only the banner animation is different. They are all doing the same thing : Reset the console.

By reseting the console when you are in neek, it returns to realNAND.
If you have priiloader or bootmii set to autoboot USBLoaderGX then you will return to the loader automatically.
if not, you will have to re-launch the loader manually after the reboot.

Ah, and don't forget to set "return to" to ON to tell neek that you want to return to "NK2O" channel when you exit a game.
but it's set to ON by default, so it should be fine.

Note : on vWii, that channel is not needed. It's automatically returning to the "Return to WiiU" system channel to reboot the console.

Tested the wad with fayry theme and the NK2O_1.wad in the link above
not working for me !
After a big loading time only return in neek SM.

Well by the way thanks. I thinkl is better for me to shut down the console and then start it again if i want to change game.

Thanks for your time cyan

I'm also taken back to Neek's System Menu after exiting a game/channel (Home Button --> Wii Menu). And yes, I have the NK2O channel installed on emuNAND.

It was working fine in preview3, with that revision I was always taken back to Real System Menu, but not now with r1250.

Edit:
@Cyan, if "Nand Chan. Emulation" is set to "Neek", don't you think the option "Channel Launcher" ("Main DOL" or "Boot Content") should be hidden?

Could you explain a little bit more in detail what you want us to test here?:
"EmuNAND channel with "use global" and the global set to Full and EmuNAND save set to OFF."
