Hacking Gateway 3.1.0 N3DS Known Bugs

On my N3DS, I unlinked my sysNand and enuNand, but I still have an issue. Every time I go back into gateway mode on enuNand, all my cia's are presents again and I need to unwrap them.

I unlinked by the following:

- Formatted enuNand from the gateway menu
- Updated to 9.5 on emuNand
- Turned off console
- Removed micro SD card
- Formatted sysNand
- Turned off console and re-inserted micro SD card

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

I will try the icon method.

If the NANDs are linked then they will both change.

here is the simplest method -
Format emuNAND.
Boot into emuNAND
Go to system settings -> format (remove SD Card before format starts)
(or do this on sysNAND, I prefer my emuNAND is my main and my sysNAND is formatted)

Then if you make changes it should be separated, except for parental controls in my experience.

spankachu you are correct in the method, you should be unlinked.

To recap bugs for N3DS 8.1.0-0J:

-Emunand does not show GW in system menu
-ROM menu does not load in GW mode
-Regionfree does not work in classic mode
-Occasional crashes while booting into GW exploit

Man. This release was definitely really rushed.

To add another one to the pile for 8.1.0-0J: Going into system settings in EmuNAND does not show GW3D (like all the others), even with the original 4GB SD card that everyone says it shows with (at least for me).

Once I was absolutely bloody sure (I spelled out EMU with folders and changed the icon arrangements) I was in emunand, I followed cearp's update method and upgraded to 9.5. It fixed all the issues, even the missing GW3DS in the settings.

Now I just wish we could install the flash cart timewarp to sysNAND, so the blue card and other carts become usable again. Hopefully in the next update..

Remember how the multi-rom menu doesn't work in GW mode with an emunand that's on 8.1.0? Well, the same applies to sysNAND GW mode 8.1.0 as well.

I just read that a member "created a folder" and for some reason got it working on emunand, god knows what he meant by it.

Ah crap, that's right. Need to hope for a 9.2 cart update or a revision from GW, then.

its not advisable to update sysnand via roms (pretty much everyone who has tried has been bricked on the original 3DS....except that one guy who supposedly was the only one who didn't get bricked :rolleyes:

), so you would need to own whatever game comes with the 9.2 update for that to work.....but yeah if you had the multi-rom menu working you would also be able to install the web browser on 8.1 too

I believe he meant that he made a folder to indicate he's on emuNAND and then updated the emuNAND to 9.5. I have the rom menu working fine on my emuNAND now as well, it's just sysNAND where it doesn't work (and that's what I'm interested in, for the DS cart whitelist

).

It won't be fun importing another JP game, but that's what I intend to do. I'm mostly using GW for region free anyway.

tbh gateway probably just messed up on the 8.1 firm patches, i guess they should be fixed in the next update

If thats what he meant than I don't see how that could've fixed the multi-rom issue that some members are having, unless he doesn't know if he was in emunand or not, example: going into the system settings in emunand and quitting will boot you into sysnand.

Than using bigblue to install the cia update will work, but than again you still need multi-rom menu to work in order to install/run big blue.

Format SysNAND again.
