Same here, I got a 4.5 3ds, and a 9.2 3dsxl. I want the update because, once you go 3dsxl, it's hard to go back
try if changing to 3.0 let you download the new update gnargnar (or 4.0 for 4ds support)

in their defense, they are experiencing a lot more traffic than ever before.
I highly doubt they are going to bail on it... I would be really mad because I just got a Gateway and I only have 9.2 3DSs.
They didn't say a specific date because they wanted to avoid people getting too hyped since an exact timeline isn't there.
They just wanted to reassure their user base that everything is working and the release is not too far.

i would be surprised if it comes out this month and i wont be surprised if it was sometime next month i think the last time they did this it came out on the month after they said they would re;leased it now that just my guess since the last time they released a big major update so that what im basing it on this is a big major update just like the omega update
We know nothing about their strategy, why they didn't give a specific timeline, on what they're working etc... It's still speculating, like what everybody is doing in this thread.
You can use logic to infer something. But I will not argue about this things here for sure, god help me.

I asked them on the 24th via email if it would be coming out in days, weeks, or months, and they responded on the 25th that it would be out in 'days', which leads me to believe it would be less than a week. Going by that it should be out before new years.

I wouldn't call it logic. Considering a good chunk of these posts are mindless speculation and theoretical nonsense.
I agree, a good chunk, most of them are trolls, but beside there are still people acting intelligently. Unfortunately they are less and less, the thread is becoming worse.
My point is that there's no need to blame people who are trying to figure out what Gateway's team have in mind, just because we read too many posts talking about conspiracy or this kind of thing.
The reason for that is obvious. The news we get from the Gateway team became worse as well.
At this morning we thought they'd be finally updating the site and the deleted news were a temporary thing.
But more than 12 hours passed since then and we still haven't seen any sort of movement, and the 28th is approaching.
It becomes obvious that the GW team won't make it "in a few days" and it'll become a 2015 release.
As of now, I don't have much faith in the GW team anymore. It's delusional to think we'll see a release tomorrow when they haven't even fixed their website yet.
They could've written updated the 2.7 link (Since it's clearly still there) but no action was taken.
Can someone mail gateway with a link to this thread saying:

Right, yes... Most people interested in 3DS flash cards are specifically interested in what Gateway has to offer.
Its not that most simply want to play their games.
I'm so sorry I misunderstood that. The world is full of saints that exclusively are interested in homebrew which SKY doesn't offer. Or want the convenience to run the games they already own on a single card.

What I'm surprised about, has no one mailed GW about this mess yet?

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.

Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
