You might have to manually install the USB driver for whatever device you go with, but it should work.

The G6 lite comes packaged with a replacement shell to fit the old DS. The deal you linked to should suit your needs.

The G6 seems to be the only slot 2 card that can play the new castlevania without problems. Compatibility is very good overall. I got one a couple months ago and I still think it's just about the best choice available.

The supercard miniSD rumble is $30 or less, but it doesn't play GBA games and you need a miniSD card, a card reader and a superkey/passcard. Even so it might be a good bit cheaper than the G6.

If you really care about castlevania you should check out the PoR release thread and see the problems people are having with various flash carts.

yes thats megabits and the g6 has megabytes you will fit about 7 elite beat agents on the g6. plenty of rom my ds-x has the same memory and im sitting with 13 roms on it super mario bros ff3 etc if you want more accrate ratio post back and tell me how you get on
biggrin.gif
4Gb = 4 Gigabit = 512MB = 512 Megabyte. 1 byte (B) = 8 bits (b)

1024 / 8 = 128
128 * 7 = 896
896 > 512

You can fit 3 untrimmed 1024 megabit games and their saves on the G6 with room left over for a few smaller games. If you trim the roms you could get 4 1024 mbit games on there.

You need to make sure the U-Disk software will work correctly on ME, that is the software you use to patch/trim/load roms onto your G6... I know the software does not work correctly on 98se, so you might want to check on that before you buy it...

Or just download xp from a torrent site or anywhere for free and install it...

What specifically are the problems with win98? I know you need to install the USB disk driver, but are there other problems?

EDIT: I just tried using the U-disk software on my old win98se PC and it does not work. I successfully installed the USB driver, and the G6 was recognized as a USB drive in windows explorer, but when I select the G6 in the U-disk manager I get a page fault in kernel32. The U-disk manager doesn't crash, but it can't read or write to the G6.

If you can get the software downloaded you cant test it without having the G6.

Point the U-disk manager at your hard drive when it starts up. If it doesn't give an error then try to write a rom. It should create C:\GBA\ and C:\NDS\ folders (or whatever disk you point it to if not c:) and put the rom & save files in the appropriate one. If it does that then you are good to go.

Personally, I would just buy a 256 mb pc133 stick, shove it in this box, pirate legally acquire a copy of xp, reformat and reinstall.

Since you're thinking about a rather expensive flashcart, extra $20 or so shouldn't be a problem, also xp has better compatibility with modern software, and it crashes a lot, lot less.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
