Modmii is a program that you run on your computer. It guides you through hacking your wii and setting up a usb loader. To hack your wii you will need an sd card. To run backups (ISOs) You will need a usb hard drive, and use the program Wii Backup Manager on your computer to copy the ISOs to the hard drive.
Just download ModMii and run it, it should guide you through pretty much everything. If you have any further questions just ask here

Installation went fine, had no problem. In the specifications, I specified that the external drive should use fat32 and not WBFS.
I copied the file structure onto a Lexar usb key, added the games, and ran usb loader.
Usb Loader doesn't do anything for about 2-3 minutes, and then tells me that there is no USB key present.
Is the issue something that I did, or does the Usb Loader not recognize random USB keys?

I’ve a question. I’ve modded my wii years ago with Modmii and didn’t use it for a long time.
Yesterday I tried using it again with some new games these didn’t work so I decided there was a need to upgrade the softmod.
I am running 4.2E and have the usb loader in the system menu (no idea how I got that there). (maybe a forwarder installed can I check that?)
I somehow can’t get the upgrade to work, created the Sd card with the data (used the same SD card as before).
When going from the main screen menu to the SD Card button nothing happens except that a channel is added with a question mark.
So no pop-up with the option to load the dol/elf. I tried all three bannerbombs none work.
Also when starting HBC I can’t start any app. It says something like ‘This is not a valid wii application’
Also the usb loader from the main screen doesn’t work anymore; it just turns black after starting it.
What might happened is that HBC was upgraded successfully but bootmii failed (not sure if that happens though)
I would really make the kids happy again so please help me out if possible.

Try re-softmodding the system using ModMii, except use the Wiibrand exploit rather than Bannerbomb.
