what rom trimming tool did you guys used? I used rom_tool with the Gui and I also removed the update from the roms and now no trimmed roms are loading :(
Don't supertrim (remove update data and CCI trim), only do basic trimming (only removing CCI padding).
And don't touch CARD2 based games at all.

Just curious I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but about the DMCA notice is that GBATEMPT receiving the notice and doesn't want legal action taken against it or is it the site that hosts the content? I just trying to understand what is going on. I know that posting links to roms has already been a big no no but now its the software and hardware that runs this stuff now? What of older stuff or does this only apply to Gateway and other possible 3ds stuff?

Do i need to reinstall the gw launcher with the blue card if i've never updated from 1.2? Or should i just copy over the new launcher.dat in the sd card and (after backing up nand) format an emunand and then update the 3ds in gateway mode?

Gateway/other 3ds flashcarts loaders have copyrighted Nintendo code in it. GBATEMP received the noticed.

Its to my understanding that there are illegal copyright files that get uploaded so action was taken to make sure that those links are no longer hosted here or on file trip. It's not only the gateway but all of its derivatives as well.

Real-time saving has been added. (Yes even if you switch games it will still save).
I think someone missed my reply earlier regarding this. What does this "Exactly" mean? How does it work, what does it do, etc?

I'll tell you alll exactly what I did to have it work on the first try:

-First, I formated my MicroSD with the SD Formatter Tool found here: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ (I did full erase)
-Next, I right clicked the appropriate drive for the SD card and clicked "format" (this is in Windows 7)
-Under "Filesystem" click "ExFAT" and under "allocation size" do "Default allocation size" and format.
-I used 3DS RomTool from here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/3ds-rom-tool-rom_tool.349314/ and the RomTool Gui from here: http://gbatemp.net/attachments/rom_tool_gui-0-2-zip.4834/ Unzip those to the same folder and run the gui to NORMAL trim any roms you want to copy over. Super trimming can cause issues.
-I then used a program called Teracopy to copy roms onto the card. This program lets you queue up files for copying so you don't have to do them one at a time if you have them all in seperate folders. Just right click and drag them to the SD card and do "Teracopy here" or whatever the option says. (Teracopy: http://codesector.com/teracopy)
-Update your Gateway card if you haven't already and load into Emunand and hit select and your games should all show up.

=Common questions and misconceptions=
-EShop dumps do NOT work.
-Online does NOT work (local still does)
-Saves from 2.0b do still work (tested with Yoshi's New Island played on 2.0b1)
-Real time saving is NOT save states like it sounds. It just means you shouldn't have to press "Home" and "Close" to copy the .sav to your SD card like you had to with older launchers.
-The rom splitter should only be used if you are playing a rom with a size larger than 4 gigs on a FAT32 formatted card. ExFAT supports files higher than 4 gigs so you do not need to split.

Sorry if some of this has been repeated before. Good luck!

That, I get. But how does it actually work? If you quit the game without any proper in-game save (by the game) it'll save regardless?

It copies the save to the SD card in "realtime" meaning as SOON as it updates the .sav in the rom file, it copies straight to the SD card.

Well most likely they just abuse the DMCA-notices to get sites like gbatemp to remove those files because they may or may not be illegal due to piracy. I pretty much doubt that those files contain any code nintendo has a copyright on.
The result however is that sites who don't want to go to court because of this just remove the files like gbatemp did (which is completely understandable).

Updated mine. So no going back now.

Seems to be working fine. Updating the FPGA took longer than I expected, so got a little scared there.

Otherwise, all seems to working great. Already had a 7.1 emunand. Formatted my microsd, put a load of games on, no issue. Menu pops up soon as I hit select, all the games seem to be showing fine in menu, few I loaded up seem to working great.
