So while reading the readme, I noticed something that I'd like to give a shot but haven't been able to do:

Devolution currently offers the following enhancements to the regular "Gamecube on Wii"
experience:
- Alternative mediums for loading games (SD and USB)
- Alternative controllers (Wiimote with classic controller, WiiU Pro Controller, PS3
controller)
- Alternative mediums as memory cards (SD and USB)
- Emulation of the Gamecube modem hardware using the Wii's networking hardware (wifi or
wired)
- Wii Family Edition and WiiU support

Is emulation of the BBA currently implemented/working? I'd be super cool to get some consoles wired up and try some Mario Kart Double Dash LAN!

Edit: I can load Mario Kart Double Dash just fine, I just can't get the LAN option to show up.

Guys, I'm having some trouble making things work with Devolution. I'm at the step where I need to verify my ISOs booting devolution on my wii (to use it later on my wiiu).

So I start devolution, and launch a game. The two flashes appear regularly, meaning I have to insert the original disk, which I do. Then there are 5 flashes, and it happens twice. Then after a little while the two flashes come back and never stop. The game doesn't start, nor is the disk ejected. If I eject it, and put it back in, no response, it keeps flashing twice.

Did I do something wrong? Is it a known error? Thanks in advance for your help!

(by the way, my wii is PAL, and my games are jp/us, and I have no issue starting them using usb loader)

EDIT: Nevermind, I ripped my isos using cleanrip, and now it works.

ok well I give up for now. I tried two games... ripped them myself with clean rip. They are

Luigi's Mansion (NTSC)
Animal Crossing (original, not GH NTSC)

After ripping them with clean rip on my Wii. I then verified them with devolution 2.00 at which point the games started running just fine on the Wii.

Move the iso files into the games directory so that devolution can see them. Connected the USB hard drive to my Wii U. It is a Wii U black model hooked up to my HDTV via HDMI plug.

Loaded homebrew channel, Ran devolution.... Now here is the first issue..

It says to press X or Y. If I press "X" on my WiiU Pro Controller (or even my classic controller connected to a wiimote) it hangs. However if I press "2" on the Wii mote controller it works fine. So the instructions are either incorrect or it has a problem when using a Wii U Pro Controller (or both). That aside..

Once I do get the gamelist to show. I select the game. Press A.
Black screen.
Hard drive light blinks occasionally.

That is it.. Nothing else happens..

The "press X or Y" are a bit of a misnomer... it's actually what X & Y would be on the GameCube controller, but because the default button layout is rotated 90 degrees on the CC/pro and the U Pro controller, you need to actually press A or X.

Maybe Maxternal's sample loader mod could fix this? Maxternal! Where are ya?! :P

Ok, I'm stuck again. Does anyone know how to change the aspect ratio? I read that you have to press "minus" and a d-pad direction... But where? In the main menu? Ingame?

Also, what am I supposed to do in order to make the wii classic controller pro work?

Guys, there is readme with clear cut directions included in the d/load.. Why all the confusion? Jinroh there is a section in the readme that explains how to connect any controller supported. Check it out if your unclear or get stuck let us know what part u could use some help in.

For whatever reason I keep thinking that the widescreen button shortcut isn't in the readme even though I read through the entire readme.txt before ever using Devolution r200...

Anyway, according to the readme, it's minus & left on the dpad to toggle the widescreen hack.

Not really aimed at u nintendomaniac sorry if I came across rude. I get ticked when people don't read at all. It's like if u spent time creating something that will answers 95% of the questions people will have and they completely ignore it. it's one thing not to understand something but that wasn't the case.

It's like when someone asks how to wifi log after u supplied them with wifi logging for windows dummies.. Redundant as f**k right lol.

So I listened to you all complain about Devolution as it stands now, I am actually doing something about it. I am looking into the code, and figuring out his anti-piracy bits and I am working on taking them out. Not because I support piracy, but because I cannot find Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO anywhere. Also, how else can I play Mariokart Arcade GP on Wii U? Not to mention not having a Wii around... I am a brand new Dev, so please give me time. This is also not to disrespect the Original Author, This is to gain some experience.

If all else fails, like I said, try Maxternal's modification of the sample loader.

Yeah, I will try that. I finally managed to make it work, you have to activate the controller, and then turn it into passive mode. But when I play Resident Evil, it just shits part of the background right or left, it doesn't change the ratio. And resident evil is unplayable in widescreen.

EDIT:

Ok, so here's the problem, I can't start the games at all in 4:3, either it boots in a stretched widescreen (why doesn't it fit the whole screen? It's not a 16:9 widescreen...), either devolution fixes the aspect ratio of the 3D elements while keeping it widescreen:

Widescreen (not 16:9) stretched:
http://uppix.net/r0z7hS.jpg

Widescreen (not 16:9) fixed:
http://uppix.net/j40ZUp.jpg

So with most games it isn't really an issue, but with games containing 2D backgrounds it's a real problem.

My question is, is there any way to force a 4:3 to have these games run in their original aspect ratio? If not, will Maxternal's patch fix that, or will it just result in the same issue?
