It reconizes that it's a USB Mass STorage device which I can asscess to safely remove it with the Safely Remove Hardware, and it dectected it every time I would plug it into a new USB slot (the little text box that says it found new hardware and then told me what it was), so I would say it's the latter, that it reconized it and identifies what it is, and that I need to set up the rest such as formatting and readying for use.

Try to run the utiliy tool for G6 and see if it will recognize the G6. It might need to be formatted by it first.

Copy the folder with the utility to your pc so it can create a directory.

K, now I don't get that error but the same menu comes up with a bunch of diffrent options (It apears to be a configuration menu) I click Ok on this menu and it brings up something else, which a To do list in the middle of the page and at the bottom are three opions, Config (which works and takes me back to the screen I was just on) Do Now! (which doesn't work, I can't click on it or anything) then Exit which just exits the program. Under the To Do List I'm not able to click anything either if I'm supose to, and it doesn't seem to create a drive or anything...

Edit: Also at the top are a bunch of icons that I can't click on, the icons are square with a circle inside them.

That means that the cart isn't making contact with the burner. The pins are the little wires upon the black plastic that have the burner. I don't know if you can fix it. Could be a very simple problem and you can push a little bit the cart to make sure that it does contact with the burner, you can try putting something between the cart and the burner(a little piece of paper). Or could be a defective burner

It seems like one or most of the U-disk burner's pins doesn't make contact with the cart.
How did u come to this assumption?

Also, if the system detects the hardware and identifies it as a "Mass Storage", it should appear in My Computer as a new drive. If it's there, you can simply right click on the new drive that appears (usually call "Removable") and select format.

Windows will detect the USB burner as a "Mass Storage" no matter if it has the cart plugged or not. If you plug the USB burner without the cart, go to My computer and click on the drive the "Please insert a disk into drive:" message will pops up.

Ahh, I see. I've never tried to plug the burner into the USB port by itself.

@Prince Medion: Have you tried to boot the card using your DS? I didn't try to boot the card right away when I got mine, but I recall it has some pre-installed stuff like emulators and such. See if you can boot the card at all. Just to make sure it's working. (assuming the card is ready to go out of the box... without games of course)

Yes I've used the card already and it seems to work prefectly, of course it doesn't have any games I can test but the applications on it seem to work just fine, I can access the cart, game, media, and the PDA, and the calculator worked on the PDA, so I don't think it's the cart. if it's the burner would the best idea to send it back as defective and request another one?

Best idea would be to find someone close to you with one so you can test it first to make sure it is burner and not cart.

If it was a problem of the U-Disk not making proper contact with the G6 cart, a drive letter would still be assigned and show up in My Computer, but you'd get the message saying "Please insert a disk in drive x" when you try to access it. That's the message that the original poster in this thread was getting, but Prince Medion is not the orignal poster and his problem seems to be something different. He gets no new drive showing up in My Computer at all, whihc I think is probbaly a Windows related problem, not hardware.

In fact, I've had this problem with some USB drive device before, though I can't actually remember how I solved it. You should be able to research the problem with Google, though, since it's not specifically G6 related. Other than that, my advice would be first of all if you haven't already, try uninstalling the drivers manually, reboot your PC and then stick the U-Disk back in and see if it detects it right the second time. If that doesn't work try looking at your device manager in Windows and see if everything is there, a USB Mass Storage device shows up three times: once as a "USB Mass Storage Device," second as a "USB Disk" and third as a regular disk drive along side your HD. If it shows up as a disk drive (not just a USB Mass Storage Device) I would check the settings tab there and see if a drive letter is being assigned. You may want to try reserving a drive letter for it in that same tab and then removing and re-inserting the U-Disk. If none of that works, then hit up Google. If absolutely nothing works, then yeah, it could still be a hardware problem, I suppose, but I think that's the least likely option in this case.

I reinstalled windows XP just yesterday in order to fix another error and tried to use this again, however it still didn't work. BUT It seemed to reconize a Disk Drive but didnt' give it any label which is why I think it's not showing up on My Computer and why I can't access it. Any ideas?

I'm attempting to uninstall the drivers and reboot.

Edit: Well unistalling, rebooting and then plugging it back in didn't work and it still seems to show up as a disk drive but isn't registered to any, how can I make or reserve a drive so the device will reconize the flash cart?

Edit 2: Well by going into computer management I can assign the cart a disk but it still doesn't apear on my computer and when I try to access it, it says H:Doesn't Exist (I gave the letter H to the drive) tried restarting but when I restart it asks to remove devices or media so I have to remove it and upon doing that then when I plugged it back in, then the device is back to basically being labeled as non-existant (it isn't labeled as anything but the device is obviously there)

Any help?

Edit 3: Okay I was SOMEHOW able to access it useing the U-DISK manager while keep a window of the Drive open while exploring it (no idea why it worked) and it seems to be... well remotely working, I just put a game on and I'm gonig to try it out... Just a sec.

Edit okay whatever I did it worked and I got Super Robot Taisen Original Generation on it and seems to work perfectly!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Thanks for all your help people I guess I'll just have to work at it the hard way when I use it but meh as long as it works thats good for me!

Please give more information on your solution, I have the very same problem, but I have two G6lites and one of them works, indicating that it's not a pc problem.

The G6 lite still works in my DS and has never been corrupted. I have tried all of the possible remedies from the forums i.e uninstalling drivers and G6 U-Disk manager etc.

I have tried it on a second computer, it's asleep and it doesn't want disturbing. Help me wake it up

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
SylverReZ @ SylverReZ: @BakerMan, Any idea what happened? I hope that your brother's doing good.
