Legacy games mostly due to cart battery failures (basically all pre-DS Nintendo consoles) or bad compatibility with modern HDTVs (NES the main culprit). I'm a bit of a collector for games, so I have a ton of them around, but can't play all of them without setting up additional hardware from my closet. With emulators I can just hit the USB adapter on the computer and Voilà!
Mainly GBC games which I own, but just so I can play them on my DS on the go.
I really only use a ds emulator on the computer(Desmume) when I am trying out modified games, such as english patches, or just changing some values. I have often had the games freeze after I had done self modification, so makes it easier to test.
I use SSF for Sega Saturn emulation a fair bit as I want to preserve my collection. I also use NullDC for the Dreamcast, same reason. Can't beat playing on the original hardware though.
Any console I don't use frequently enough to have hooked up to the TV really and sometimes...I emulate consoles that I don't own illegally, Shock Horror!
My PSP is loaded to the brim with emulators a lot of the time. GBA, GBC, Master System, Mega Drive, NES, SNES, and I suppose technically PS One and PSP as well since I'm playing my games from the memory card now I've broken the UMD tray.
Most of the time when I use emulation, it's on my Dingoo and mostly the games that have only one save file or I can't bring around with me (like my SNES and NES games.)
For systems like PS1, I use my XBox.
Any console that has been collecting dust and at the end of it's lifecycle with few or no games ends up being modded, hacked, etc. The PS3 is next now that PS2 emulation exists, and my PC always has emulators on it as well, but I don't use most of them save for Saturn, DC, and MAME.
I regularly use console/handheld emulators on the PC. I played through Secret of Mana (ZSNES) only last week and I'm currently working through Suikoden 2 (ePSXe).
I'd say half my gaming time is on an emulator actually, with the Wii still being my fave.... Usually SNES, some Mega Drive & NES. My PSP's also crammed, PS1 (if you can call that emulation) & GBA being played on that... DS - that's for Game Boy/Color! Also got SSF & Mame on the comp, and various on my phone, but I rarely use those.
Must say I really only play games I own[ed] though, actually only getting into the whole emulation thing after finding out I could play my Sieken Densetsu 3 in English that way (oooh, going back to the 90s too when I found that out - gawd that's scary!) - got completely stuck in that game on my SNES and was gutted as I'd paid 85 or so quid for it!
-Just about any emulator on the wii (though admitted, a lot where "does this stuff work?" tests).
-DS emulator on the 3DS (yay, flashcart)
-SNES emulator on PSP
-(more recently) gameboid on android (xperia play)
Do note that I use emulators barely more than for one or two games to play through, but in any case: yes, I use them.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
