Interestingly enough, it ends up being that the untouched ISO image that was what finally got it working for them (the same thing that devolution requires anyhow)

You should always start testing the game in 1:1 format.
Then you can try modifying the iso, compressing, extracting, aligning, etc.
Some games don't work when they are not 1:1

i have a my book essential not a my book passport its not a portable ill tell u that my problem is that when i first ran dios mios 2.0 it worked once and only once the next time i did it it never worked i tried 2.1 my result was nothing. i tried 2.2 still noting
hi , iv got an odd problem , everything was working like charm intil i change my sd card from sandisc 4gb class 2 to sony 8gb class 4 , iv formatted it to fat 32 with 64kb clusters and copy all data from my old card and after starting my wiiflow and selecting any game from sd my wii starts dios mios and loads game from disc , when i took the disc out and then start any game from sd dios mios popups error "area! al error app_entry is not within the apploader" i try to format my SD with everythibg and convert games one again with no results
I need some help with Baten Kaitos. I am able to load the game fine but I am unable to save. It recognizes that I have a memory card in slot A but when i save, the bar that shows save progress stops moving. The game doesn't appear to freeze though since the sound continues. I am using DML 2.2 and DML booter svn r30 (the latest version). I have default settings with NMM mode on.
I dont actually have a memory card. According to http://crediar.no-ip.com/gc/, baten kaitos should work with nmm though.

According to that compatibility list, I take it you're more specifically using "Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean" NTSC version although it does show it as being tested with v2.0 so it's still possible that v2.2 broke compatibility for that. Have you tried older versions of DML to see if they work by chance?
Better yet, anyone ELSE have a copy of that game and willing to confirm if it's working or not with v2.2? EDIT : With NMM (forgot that detail)
Works no problem for me.
(CFG mod r37 with all default settings+DM 2.2+Memory Card in Slot A)

Can you run a search for Toshiba Canvio and see if other people have had similar problems/solutions?I have no experience in Hard Drives, but I belive mine is this one http://www.walmart.c...indingMethod=rr however I'm still not sure if it's not compatible or if I'm just doing something wrong because in every other way the hard drive works just fine including copying GC isos to the SD and I JUST tried Dios Mios USB recently so it could be that I did something wrong.
Man this really sucks, I was looking forward USB compatibility but now the image is fading away, any help for getting this to work will be greatly appreciated
It's so weird that you don't get the splash screen. It suggest the problem might not even be the drive. I wonder if you need a clean BC or that sort of thing.
I still have to test using DML Boater then I'll get back to you, I have a feeling maybe something in the settings in USB Loader GX is incorrect, but it does work fine with DML 2.2 just not DM 2.2 not even the splash screen appears, I really want it to work :'(

If there's no splash screen it's a drive detection problem.
Try another HDD or HDD adapter/enclosure if you are using one, even a flash drive.

Well, remember that DML loads games from the SD card, and does nothing with the hard drive. Therefore, the fact that it works with DML and not DM does not really tell you anything about hard drive compatibility.
Well I just tried DML Booter with DM 2.2 and I get black screen too, I will try a flash drive some time later, if it turns out it's the Hard Drive I may have to switch to my 500GB LG hard drive, although it won't be easy to switch to that, maybe I should just stick with DML 2.2!

I just tried a flash drive formatted to FAT32 32K Cluster, I still get black screen, both USBLoader GX "including the new non-released one, thanks Cyan, btw it works great " and DML Boater, it's definitely not the Hard Drive being non-compatible then but it must be something wrong with the way I install Dios Mios, I guess I have no other choice then but to go back to Dios Mios Lite 2.2!

This is the only logical explination I could come up with I hope an update that fixes the black screen issue will be released, surly I'm not the only one having this issue with DM!
