If they bring back the downhill levels from the first one I'm game.

Never understood why they got rid of those, they were my favorite.

I really hope they don't ruin this. These games were played a lot back in the day, and they deserve the attention a good remake gets. I don't think they should change the soundtrack, but maybe offer a switch under settings if we can pick old/new shit. That would be nice. Sort of like how the Halo CE remake lets you go from original GFX to HD GFX

It got stupid when you could pretty much go from any trick into a manual or grind and carry on stupidly long combos, this didnt exist in the first 2 titles so hopefully they wont include them in the remakes, but I know they;ll be included thus destroying my childhood memories and amking them stupidly easy, I think i'll stay away from this one.

idk how you guys are trash talking tony hawk games. 1-4, thug 1 and 2, and thpg on ds were all the same, just with added features and game play modes. i like them all except the latest iterations that try to ramp up the graphics.

heres the ones that are different from the general thps formula:

the two games with the board
proving ground on 360/wii/ps3
and project 8. although project 8 is pretty close.

as you can tell i love the tony hawk series.

THPS 1-3 = Win The rest of them = crap
I don't think it's that simple. This isn't referring to you, but some people really praise the first two because of nostalgia, Pro Skater 4 is definitely a good Tony Hawk game. I don't understand where people are getting this idea that 1-2 are fantastic, and then everything else is completely repulsive.

The last good one was American Wasteland.

That's all nice and dandy, but isn't Tony Hawk "old" by now? Skateboarding was hip in the PlayStation One times, now it's relatively common bread. I'm suprised that the TH series are still up and running, I was expecting them to wither and die ages ago.

Still, cool game, even cooler now in HD.

I was thankful for the skate series these last couple of years (give or take the lack of local multiplayer with vanilla 3) but an encore of the first few Tony Hawk titles will work for me especially as there does not seem to be much in the way of news on Skate 4 right now.

I think at present I gunned through the storyless mode in American Wasteland on the xbox and fiddled with a few others but for fond memories the series ends with 4 and 4 was not the peak of the series for me (I did like the early DS game though). I will second the music was far better back when but frankly speaking anybody that made it to the point in life that they are on the temp discussing things (to say nothing of being old enough to have nostalgia for the first few games in the series- the first just about appeared in 1999) and can not figure out how to get their own music playing during a console game (the finance strapped crowd- DVD players with basic amps have been around for many years now and go cheap when the laser dies but the rest still works) probably needs to re-evaluate their skills. The realist in me also wants to mention licensing cost for the 20 hours (conservative) that most of us would count as the core of their music collection (to say nothing of many of those tracks being from fairly known/respected artists in given genres) would be rather high.

Of course I am one of the fools that quite enjoyed MTV skateboarding (PC version at least) so might be worth disregarding my opinion here.

Edit to address calls of rose tinted spectacles- mechanics of later games, give or take massive combos, sure but the level design left a lot to be desired for me.

If they were really thinking differently, they would announce Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, and pull an Ed Boon with the Tony Hawk series.

If the price tag really is the 60€, I can't understand why. Most HD collections have started at around 35€ and then going down in price after that (around 10-20€ for most of them after a few months). This includes even the combo packs on the PS3/360, not to mention games on the PC.. Making a game in HD isn't that new anymore considering that most games released now are already there (and basically every genre has one or two games released for every imaginable platform. Both a good and a bad thing though).

SO HERE I AM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN...

Love it. Original soundtracks are the most important things in this remake imo.
