The 3DS version is just brighter because it doesn't incorporate the glow/bloom effects shown in the Vita version (and no corner dimming). Other than that, and the higher resolution of the Vita version, I don't see a whole lot of difference between the two.
True, it doesn't look that much of a difference. But that's mainly because rushed development and the fact that the handheld is entirely new. The longer the handhelds are out, the more developers will really put the power to use.
I prefer no jaggies after all. Even not being that good, Vita version is leagues ahead of 3DS one. Not 3DS fault though, as 3DS can do much better than this shit they will try to sell for full price.
I agree, neither game is really taking advantage of its respective hardware. We know the Vita is the more powerful system regardless though.

Graphics don't make the game. As the source says "let's be inappropriate and compare the two".
Visuals aside, I don't think a precision, high speed racer like this is suited to handheld formats at all so it will probably suck on both Vita and 3DS.

this game is so ugly, i have seen screens in full Vita resolution 960x544 on neogaf and you can see the game does not render at the screens full and native resolution, no idea why. All the textures where very blurry and the glow effect looks over done. If you ever see the crowd animation up close you would be shocked at how pixelated they are. Its a direct port of 3ds version with very little upgrades.

I'm on the fence with this, doesn't look to great on either machine, though the Vita version is way ahead of the 3DS one in every way. Pretty much looks identical to the 360 version.

After looking at other screens they released, I was mistaken... it's the same fucking game with a paint of bloom and better lightning/models/pollygons on the Vita version, but essentially the same shit. Shame Codemaster/Sumo...
If you're in racers:
PS VITA: ModNation Racers, WipEout?
3DS: Mario Kart 7, Ridge Racer 3D?
There are better choices. Personally, I find that RR3D (said to look quite bad - IMO roughly on par with PSP version) looks even better than this.
