Many people, including myself, bought these protective cases because they have hinges that reinforce the 3DS, and make it more sturdy. I have a wobbly hinge, and removing the bottom of a case would defeat my purpose for using it. I do agree with you though, it should be obvious that any accessory that adds bulk won't allow the 3DS to fit in the cradle. I think it would be cool if some company made a high quality clear case, and packaged it with a charging dock that was compatible (c'mon Logitech, you can do it).EphenSteve said:Obvious stuff is Obvious. put it in the dock without the case. wiggles a very small amount no room for a case unless its paper thin. they dont make paper thin plastic cases nor is silicon thin enough. no case will allow it to fit in the dock unless you go with just the upper protection. ive seen an aluminum cover for the top and bottom but they didnt have to connect so you could just do without the bottom and your top would be covered which is the only thing that matters anyway.

I recommend the Airform Bag Bundle for 3DS to you,.It helps to protect the host against scratch, shock and fall. The Protective 3D Hard Case also has an internal mesh pocket inside for storing game card or other 3DS accessories.
