Hello!
I have a bit of a problem in life and if I don't fix it, I'm going to fail everything.
I'm pretty terrible at organising my time. With me it's either all work, no play or all play, no work.
I can go for days just working, or days just playing, but I'm awful at trying to do both.
I get fed-up of spending whole days working so lately I've been slacking a lot and it's not doing my coursework any good at all.
Basically, I'd like to know how Tempers organise their time so I can attempt to emulate.
If it makes any difference, I'm doing my A-Levels at school - English, Religious Studies, Media Studies and History.
Cheers!

i used to have a big board where i can write my sched, which i must follow. it's organized w/ time and some sidenotes and i also carry a little notebook with me. but lately i've been forgetting it.

in deciding which course of action i will take for a day, i will think of what will can i do today, what will be it's effects in the following days, what will be the unknown circumstances(for example if i happen to meet someone can i stretch my sched)....

i'll post complete story tomorrow.

I use a reverse-schedule. Instead of blocking out time when I am going to get some work done I reserve time for when I'm going to relax. I'll play a game for an hour or read a book or something.

Most people do not have scheduling issues, they have psychological issues. It sounds like you could have the best calendar system in the world and you will still just do what you want. YOU RACKA DISCIPRINE

Do work for two hours, and then relax for an hour. That's what I do. If I have some work, or cleaning to do, I clean or work for 2 hours, then I sit down and do something I enjoy. Like BF said, it seems you lack discipline.

Is your problem possibly procrastination at some level? I've had issues with procrastination. If you recognize that's what's really the root of the problem, just Google "stopping procrastination" and you will find a lot of resources that will help.

This is true. I dunno how to fix it, though.

Well, I am not the best person to suggest at this but.. you need to take everything seriously.
Make everything your priority.

If you take things easy, you will never be able to follow your schedule.

I sorta have the same problem. My schoolwork is so boring I tend to not do it until the last minute.

In truth, there's no way for us to tell you how to budget time. I know exactly what I'm supposed to do, it's just a question if I'll do it or not.

Sit down and do it. WE RACKA DISCIPRINE

Nah I've found some stuff online about self-discipline.
Apparently this is my problem along with being a perfectionist. For example, my research task in Media Studies is still unfinished at 3,800 words (10 pages) whereas most people were done at 3 pages.

Ah welcome to my life. Time to get used to working for temp agencies and "scheduling" your play time.

your goal for school is to either expand or get a career as a ...?
If you do not have a plan then time to get familiar with temp agencies. Labour laws and contract law, copyright law and working across borders. why Copyright? well you may end up working with sensitive material that you can't blab about. Contract and labour law so you don't get screwed over the work you do by agencies or employers.
I schedule play time and work time according to my biorythm chart. Weird maybe but it works like this - when the biorythm tells me I will be weak or strong physically I schedule work around that accordingly. Just like when I will be strongly creative I either take a graphic design job or schedule play time. Find your biorythm. learn your tempo and schedule around it.

I hope this advice doesn't sound to weird...

As to your media studies project your into it because it interests you? or is it becuase you want to do a good job? there is a difference. At least you have a general direction of interests to narrow down and focus on...
