If you can't beat them, join them but in this case buy them. Now all we need is for verizon to buy sprint. And we're good to go.

Yeah, cause then I'd be able to buy that stupid iPhone. If that ever happened, I'd go back to the way I did it as a kid; paper cups attached to strings.

Why Deutsche Telekom, why? AT&T is evil. I have proof: My mom bought an AT&T prepaid phone to use on T-Mobile (I was going to unlock it), I put the battery in and closed the cover. After 35 seconds, I noticed a burning plastic smell. And then, after I took the back off, the battery exploded skyward. The phone never worked again.

That would be the prepaid phone's manufacters fault. Not AT&Ts.

As for AT&T acquiring T-Mobile USA, I can't comment on that as I live in Canada.

Yeah, I know. I just really really don't like AT&T. Soon to become AT&T&T.

I used to have a contract with a smaller GSM service that was bought out by AT&T, so I can speak from experience as to what'll happen: They'll incorporate whatever they can of T-Mobile's network, so long as it won't cost them too much. You'll have your same T-Mobile rates as long as your contract still exists, though unless T-Mobile still operates separately you'll eventually have to accept the new prices AT&T will charge you if you accept a new contract with them. Also, don't buy a phone locked to AT&T and expect your T-Mobile SIM to work, because it won't; I got screwed over on that one, but at least it was just a cheap pre-paid AT&T phone and not a $300 Palm or something.

I have read multiple sites and news articles since the news broke. None of them had the USA part after t-mobile. I'm pretty such it's all of T-mobile being bought by AT&T.

I'm pretty sure it's only T-Mobile US that is being bought. AT&T would be dabbling in something bigger than than itself if it were to buy all of T-Mobile.

Expanding out of the US at this point would make no sense for ATT anyways.

Maybe you should find better news sources, who actually understand the topics they're covering?

AT&T with your stupid hype of the Iphone, charging people with data plan, crappy coverage to boot. Leave my T-mobile service ALONE! I don't need something to deal with a business that gives crappy service. Let alone putting those poor T-mobile carriers out of business.

That's all wrong. You should probably search beforehand.

What carrier has a free data plan? And don't you understand that this will increase AT&Ts spectrum, thus making coverage better AND they gain the use of T-Mobile's towers. Your whole point is dumb.

While that all sounds well and good, a few companies controlling the entire industry isn't good for business, competition or consumers. Look at Canada; we have 3 providers (Bell, Rogers and Telus) that pretty much control the entire market, and we get stuck with high prices and poor service.

AT&T will now be a better competitor to Verizon now

-AT&T have been giving out better deals for existing iPhone users who used to have unlimited Data plan
-Some people can get a free signal booster for areas that there is low coverage

Sprint has been having some issues with their towers whilst upgrading lately and people are allowed to leave Sprint because no one is getting coverage and to avoid lawsuits they are removing the penalty for leaving the service early in the contract and Sprint is also crediting people who are having a lot of issues

so now it comes down to the big 2 networks AT&T (now the only big) GSM and Verizon CDMA

guess well see if Sprint can come back or Verizon can buy them out

itll be interesting to see what happens in a year

The united states is pretty much the same way.... T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T.....And honestly I just don't want to be screwed by AT&T ...they are a bit more strict then T-Mobile

You now have Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, Cricket Wireless, TracFone, MetroPCS and various others. Also, having as few competitors as possible is great for business, dunno where that came from. Competition is great for consumers since companies are forced to make things better. Look at the iPhone after people started Android phones. And neither of these companies control anything - they're just some of the largest.

you guys do realize that the T-Mobile Towers will be incorporated into AT&T service which gives you better coverage around the nation plus the 4G that has been setup since now AT&T wont have to make soo many more 4G towers nor upgrades this actually saves them money in the long run to compete with Verizon's soon to be 4G LTE service
