Is there away to replace marios model with samus model from metroid prime? We have all the models ready in Hunters and the Demo. I think there should be way to extract these.

What sense does that make? The intention of this hack is to get Mario into the Metroid world. If you want Samus in the Metroid world, then go play Metroid...

filetrip or load.to mirror?
I use Mediafire so that nobody has to wait for downloads. I haven't looked into Filetrip yet. Maybe I will upload there as well.

Has anyone found the secret areas yet?

Because the last version is public I'll write my thoughts here and not in a PM:

The Level 1-3 classic Mario Bros. room is great! Really cool idea and a nice surprise! But there's a small bug in the vertical room of 1-3. It doesn't have a ceiling so it's possible to jump out. If you jump out to the right, you are stuck, if you jump out to the left you die.

I found the secret exit in 1-mini castle and again a nice surprise. The hammer bros. work great here. But there's one problem with the room where you go into the mini pipe leading to this surprise. If you manage to get into the small part under the mini pipe as Super Mario, you can of course destroy that block. If you then don't have a mini mushroom in your inventory, you're stuck. Maybe you could make a passage to the left or right where Super Mario fits through. Also in the room with the secret exit, there's a ?-Block. What's that for?

1-4 has a great layout. Feels very Metroid-ish. There's one small vertical room where two green koopas fall down. Those are annoying. And two rooms further in the room with the falling spike heads (the exit room), there's a hidden 1up. If you find that as Super Mario, you are stuck. Or is there another way out?

What about coins? You should use those for like basically showing the level directions. Also use ?-Blocks with coins so that ?-Blocks with power ups become more special

Overall great! It's getting better and better.

I forgot to fix the no top on 1-3. I'll get that. I used up the entire map height on that level.

Thanks. Got the Koopa issue fixed in my current build.

I'll check the ?block.

May add some more power ups/coins.

There may be issues with the M3/wood combo crashing. Haven't figured out why yet. I have the game working off of an Acekard II and Desmume 0.9.6.

Thanks for the testing. There are a million things to miss. I play this a bunch of times a day, and it is still easy to miss things.

Almost finished with first world. A few more things to do.

Second world is half way finished.

I will post another revision soon.

Have a couple beta testers, but could use some more. If anyone is interested, PM me and I'll send a link to a non-public release.

Hopefully should have a full release within a month or two. There are a lot of added hidden areas.

This is a very playable hack. I have cleaned up all the areas in the first world. It will be really high quality when done.

Just wanted to say, I just read through the entire thread, and I am quite excited about playing this, patching as of posting. I am more than willing to beta test, will send you a PM about that. Also, ignore the trolls. Must have ran out of kids to torment.

Okay, I've downloaded the latest patch and tried applying it (using the copy of XDelta included) to a copy of "New Super Mario Bros. (U)" (With a checksum of 76b7c6de940628d58e7bdf9c38b79a6b.)
It seems that your patch does not match this rom for some unknown reason. Could you please try to fix this in the future? I really want to try this.

The problem is with your rom. Try another one. It needs to be 32MB and (U) version. There is one, as I mentioned in an earlier post, that can be found on a popular site that fits the description, but will throw random errors. I am 100% positive my patch is good.

I am releasing another beta. The first world is finished. I have fixed a lot of bugs, and the first world is very stable. There are a couple things that I will fix in the next revision, but they are fairly minor. 1A will also be in the next release.

Thanks to the beta testers for helping me get the game where it is.

And to SKJmin and Spenstar for editor help.

The next beta is almost ready. I sent out the current versions to the beta testers. Once I hear back from them, and edit as needed, I will release the next beta. The game is super clean now. It is getting real good. There are a lot of hidden areas and things to find. This hack is not like any of the others. It is a game by itself.

I have built the game up to the tower in World 2, and have heard back from one of the beta testers. Still waiting to here from the others so I can release the next version. Is anyone else interested in testing the game? Send me a PM.

Anyone that hasn't played this game is missing out. I know there are a lot of Mario hacks out there, but this is a really good game on its own.

Anyone that has played this game, I would like feedback good or bad.

Here is my newest beta release.

New Metroid Bros. (.084)

This build is up to World 2-Tower. Make sure and check out the 1A and 2A levels. There have been many changes since the last build. If you haven't played this yet, make sure you play it up to 1A at least.

If there are any changes or suggestions post them. This may be my last build before the final build. So if there are any ideas, get them in now so they can be in the game.

Still looking for beta testers if anyone is interested.

I can see that there are a lot of people downloading this game. I haven't heard from anyone except a couple of you. Really, I would like some input from other gamers. If you haven't played this yet, at least try it up to level 1A, and by then I am sure you will like it enough to play through.

Again, this is a real game, not just a nostalgia throwback. I have got months into this, putting in an average of 4 hours a day. All I am asking is to play the game for a few, and tell me what sucks or what is cool about it. Spacejump has tested a bunch, and I have made a lot of changes according to his input.
