I'm willing to bet my soul that there will not be a completed full translation patch before the official U.S. release.
My guess is the translators will give up after the third gym. No clue how long that might take, but probably December at the earliest.
Not trying to be a naysayer, but this is exactly what happened with HG/SS, and that was actually easier because we had the story text and English names of Pokemon, items, and attacks already known.
