I'm on satellite so I can't but I've got a wireless USB connection too, will check that when I go somewhere were I actually get Wireless Internet (should be today) and let you know.
4.2.6 ,27 invalid files.
i guess i'll work on trying to clear my cache.
My real question is , even though 27 files md5 as invalid, they still are valid? are they not?
Is it still safe to use the "invalid" files to do a softmod?
There's no easy way to tell, they might be md5 invalid because of the different ticket (or whatever it is) or they might be md5 invalid because one of the downloads was corrupted.

Important! Don't report errors without first reading this post!
Information
these new "invalid" versions should be totally safe to install (assuming they are "valid" when compared to the below custom.md5)
the new "invalid" cIOSs may not install properly, but I don't think they have brick potential, but just to be safe, don't install them unless u have bootmii @ boot2. And if u do try installing them, please report back if they worked properly or not.
I am going to have to code ModMii to be able to determine which version was downloaded and label them both as Valid, I'm also going to have to patch cIOSs tickets differently if an "invalid" base wad is downloaded... this is probably the biggest pain in the butt.
Anyways, ModMii is not dead, it can recover from these games ninty seems to be playing, it will just take some time... and I may need the help of people who are getting the "invalid" files to calculate their alternate md5 hashes by building a custom.md5 ("C" from options page). Thanks memino for already doing so via PM!
What you can do
If you are experiencing "invalid" errors, download this new Custom.md5 file (or copy it from the spoiler below) and save it in the same folder as "modmii.exe", then from the download log page enter "C" to compare your downloads against the custom md5. If your downloads are valid in EITHER the initial download log or the custom.md5 log, then they are safe to install.
If you get an 'error opening file' error, you can ignore it, it means the custom.md5 includes files in it that you did not download.
Note that your destination drive must be "COPY_TO_SD" (without quotes) in order for the custom.md5 to work properly.
you can copy, paste and save the text from the spoiler below into a new file named "custom.md5" instead of downloading it from the above mediafire download link if you prefer
This is all I think I need help with going forward:
If you get "invalid" errors for any of the following files, please calculate its md5 hash and send it to me via PM.
To calculate MD5 hashes of files, go to ModMii's options page and type "C" to create your own custom.md5
edit: in fact, if you consistently download the SAME "invalid" file then send me its md5 hash (make sure that you've checked it against the custom.md5 yourself after redownloading it a few times, otherwise it could be a legitimate error you got only once)
If its IP based its more complex than just having a different, I get the same failures using my wireless internet which has a completely different IP address. On the other hand it doesn't seem random either, considering I've consistantly failed on the same files and you've apparently been successful on it.
I'll try the new MD5 file and check the MD5s again once this lot has finished running.
Edit - No, I'm wrong, a different IP address does change it slightly. I got 3 extra good files this time, just didn't notice because there were so many bad ones and they screen spam twice. Interesting.
Edit2 - Is there a way to output the validity checks to a txt file or similar ? There's too many files for it to fit on my screen buffer, so I can't check which are valid/invalid for the first few files and the Log only outputs which files were checked and an md5 (not sure if this is the md5 the file has or the one its supposed to have) but not the validity result.
Edit3 - This is fascinating, Repeating it on my wireless with the same IP is actually getting me more good files whereas before it wasn't. Maybe it is random and I have the kind of luck usually associated with the cursed.
Edit4 - And now I'm back to getting the same repeats. Maybe there's some kind of time-based window as well.
Edit5 - Am I right in thinking that there's no overlap between the custom MD5 check and the normal check , so that if I have 11 valid files using the custom MD5 and 11 bad files using the normal then all my files are valid ? ETA: Seems so, cross checking shows everything invalid in the Custom is valid in the default and vice versa.
Happens on a 4.3 update as well, so doesn't seem to be just 4.2.6
He's talking about Modmii, not Firmware version.

Thanks, I didn't think there was a firmware version 4.2.6 so I was a little confused. In that case yeah it'd cause problems in lower versions of modmii too since its still downloading files in the same way and the checksums would still be invalid.
Just like to chime in and thank XFlak/Wiibrew community for all their hard work.
I bought a used Wii last week and within a couple of hours had it running USB loader.
Superb guide and suite of apps, that really help complete newbie's to the Wii like myself.
This thing is amazing. I was unsure about updating my Wii from 3.2U before because it was a region changed pre-modded Korean Wii (and was too scared to ask on the temp forums in case I was called a n00bzstar or something), but using the wizard I now have a 4.1U Wii running fully well.
so i have a question should i use pimpmywii to update all my isos and channels, to latest 4.3(9/7/2010)? i used sciifii last time to hack my wii up to 4.3,
I'm a little bit confused now, I'm still having issues with the ModMii thing, I'm getting a lot of invalid files, but what I'm wondering is. . can I still use them? or is it dangerous or something. . .
+ I keep trying to reset it 'cause it keeps stopping at a certain point, but it still keeps stalling at certain downloads. . .
