tried both, with and without custom.md5, on two computers.

13 bad files, retried 10 times to redownload.

Just for knowledge...

Most of the IOS' ModMii downloads say they've successfully downloaded, and then say they failed MD5 Verification, they re-download, and then say the file has been skipped. Is that even safe?. . The fact that I'm usually not around when using ModMii means that if I didn't know any better I could start doing the procedure without all of the proper files, is that correct?

I'm getting repeated failure with IOS13-64-v1031 and IOS58-64-v6175.

Started with fresh ModMii. Tried downloading repeatedly with "R" and also using manual (batch).

Files in question (from log):
95173b01e0b7867c418145fdff8f0b45 *WAD\IOS13-64-v1031.wad
1c67427069e0a3781fae3be7df1e3fec *WAD\IOS58-64-v6175.wad

Am at a loss what to do next, except waiting........

that is not correct, when the downloads are finished, u are brought to a verification page, I'm sure u've seen it. So you don't need to babysit the program to make sure it is working correctly or not.

I'm starting to believe that the errors will go away once w/e temporary changes ninty made gets cleared from every1's cached memory. I've confirmed all IOSs (except IOS13) were downloaded fine from different PCs and different internet providers using v4.2.5 (v4.2.6beta downloads the latest IOS13 perfectly fine). I'm also able to replicate the errors people are getting when I use a PC that I know for a FACT has issues with clearing cache memory (it takes forever to do it!)

Does anyone know of a way to easily clear the cache memory of a PC? (I've tried one method but it doesn't seem to work).

edit:
@sonknuck23, if you experience extremely long pauses, its just nusd.exe freezing. To avoid having to close and restart the program, just open a cmd window and type "tskill nusd", this will force modmii to move on with the download queue (and either retry the download or move on). If doing all that is over your head, exit the app and try again, nusd.exe freezing it random, and generally not a huge problem.

Also keep in mind that as far as "not having all the proper files". The guide that gets generated will create a verification list and will have you double check stuff as you go through it, as long as you read it through, it will be very hard to "miss" anything

Since I'm between mods right now, I think my last one was done a couple versions ago of ModMii, I shouldnt have anything weird in my cache to mess me up. I'm planning on pulling down a few runs of ModMii, for the normal system setups I usually do, to do some tests and I'll let you know how they go. Every couple versions I like to pull down a few 3 or 4 SD Card setups of various types (4.1 virgin to 4.2, 4.2non virgin to 4.2, 4.3 virgin to 4.3, etc) and store them anyway just so i can keep up with the changes and understand things better for my next mod.

FYI, this update may not solve all the problems some people are having... here's a quote from Foez and his thoughts could be accurate... I'm not sure...

Dude!!, I just tried every cios, and everyone was invalid. Obviously as you stated, it really only download 5 ios's to be able to make up the rest. Nintendo is fucking with YOU for sure.

You can easily get around it by making an md for every ios varient. I'm sure it will be a lot of work, but that really seems to be the case.

Make a database somehow that can integrate with your app for all the possible varients.

IDK.
again, for what its worth, I think its the ticket that may randomly get changed

I am sooooo confused....

from what I understand... when some1 downloads the same file from ninty, IOS38v3610 for example, ninty will provide one ticket half the time, and a different ticket the other half of the time (all other files are the same, so they should function the same when installed to the wii, but it will lead to different md5s).

So basically, for every IOS downloaded from ninty, there could be two correct md5 signatures. So as Foez suggested, I could just have ModMii confirm that each IOS has matches one of these 2 signatures.

But in order to do that, I need to know BOTH signatures of each file... meaning if you consistently see an IOS is "invalid", go to the options page, and Create a custom md5 ("C"), and share that file with me (first noting which files were invalid in the first place)

I'm still not 100% sure that this theory is correct... but right now, its my best guess. I need some IOS experts like GiantPune or DaMysteryMan or some1 else like that to confirm my thoughts...

I don't think its random (or if it is its logged afterwards which seems inefficient). Seems to be IP address based because if I retry downloading I get the md5 errors again on everything that failed the first time , a 50/50 ticket split randomly generated should yield at least one success on a second try.
