You can also extract the HBC channel from your real NAND using Waninkoko's WadCreater v1.0 to extract the HBC wad and then install it with Showmiiwads. It worked for me at least and homebrew apps seem to work with it, well launch at least.

It may not be installed properly with my method though?

This looks like a promising TOOL.

I've been trying to get backups to run from the disc channel. Supposedly cIOSWin will do it.
That tool still has quite a ways to go, but interestingly enough the DIP module should be all you need patched for SNEEK since FFS is patched by SNEEK itself. SNEEK users would be most interested in the DIPex part of the program (DIP extractor) for use with SNEEK.

i don't know what to do now. I have tried to run my wii with my nand dump with system 4.2U.
wii boots corectly, the game (nsmbw and super paper mario) shows in the disk channel, but after i press start, i get blackscreen.
When i try to change game with gc controller in the corner says EUR (my wii and games both are ntsc),anyway,
I select the game with A then press start and nothing happens.
i have region.bin in the sneek folder in my usb. in my sd i have everything bootmii (ppcboot.elf, armboot.bin, bootmii.ini), boot2.bin, font.bin and di.bin)

what could be wrong?

If your wii is US and your nand is US, you do not need region.bin.

Filestructure for SNEEK:
sd:\bootmii\armboot.bin
sd:\boot2.bin (boot2_sd.bin)
NAND
sd:\import
sd:\meta
sd:\shared1
sd:\shared2
sd:\temp
sd:\title

usb:\games\
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Filestructure for UNEEK:
sd:\bootmii\armboot.bin
sd:\boot2.bin (boot2_usb.bin)
usb:\boot2.bin (boot2_usb.bin)
NAND
usb:\import
usb:\meta
usb:\shared1
usb:\shared2
usb:\temp
usb:\title

Place files respectively and boot your wii

is there a tutorial some where about using the sneek installer v0.1 beta by credia im completly oblivious to compileing and would like to use this app i read the first post but that seems to mainly ain at the compileing process i have no clue what files the installer is even looking for ( what i need to have in the IOS files directory box or in the sneek files directory box)

ive gone as far on my own as extracting my bootmii nand.bin with showmiiwads and getting the NDSU app that is talked about quite frequently but as far as steps further from there im lost

any help would be appreciated as im completly oblivous to like 90% of the conversation going on here (im shure id understand once i got things set up and running)

EDIT read more of the guide and am finding a few more steps that help explain a bit more but i still feel in the dark a lil bit about the installer app

in the sneek files box select the installer folder

in the IOS box select the installer folder

sd device box select your sd card

usb device box your usb hdd (only needed if you are installing +DI or uneek)

sneek type for your first run best to select just standard sneek this will ensure everything is working fine + if your dump is not on 4.2 you can update it (+DI doesn't work on anything under 4.2)

region box select your region

hit install sneek and your golden

so whats the kool thing about SNEEK+DI, the bit about running games off the SD ( in extracted format from what ive read really reminds me of DVD2XBOX hdd instalation in a way due to the files all being unpacked from the game/image) im not so shure i see what DI itself is all about versus the other sneek installs

that install seemed to be a fail i ended up with just a black screen and flashing wii drive (does the flash patterns determine anything like a beep code for a PC or anything?)ill try again right quick tho and see what happens forgot to have extracted NAND on the SD before i used the auto installer

tying to use the FS dumper from here : http://code.google.com/p/sneek/downloads/list amd i keep getting error -1017 possibly not friendly to the IOS249 (ver 19) i have installed? (with base 37) (friend told me he had thiss issue with FS dumper running the same cIOS after he got rid of v19 FS dumper worked)

EDIT: was going to use dop-mii v12 to replace IOS249 v19 with IOS249 v65280 but its a stub to my knolage stub IOS = brick so umm back to google or something i suppose?

- SNEEK+DI is the only way to play backup games from HDD and not from SD with SNEEK at the moment.(Except for PUNEEK, but if getting SNEEK to run is hard for you.. Just forget it.). NAND backup is on SD and games are on HDD.

- Just search for cIOS38 rev 17 installer and install it over IOS 249 to get rid of cIOSx rev 19

- If you still got black screen and flashing drive with NAND backup on your SD-card, it is possible that or your NAND backup or your SD-card is incompatible with SNEEK

I've had sneek installed for a long time, but I haven't kept it updated or kept up with sneek news because at the time of that version there was NO way to launch usb games. I can see now that while we still don't have a loader, there are methods to loading your extracted games from the usb drive. At a glance the tutorial seems perfectly fine but I didn't see anything about CHOOSING which game to play, whether you define that in a config file somewhere or use a homebrew app to select one. Did I miss something in the first post...?

No you didn't miss it, it is not included in the 1st post. I have wanted to add it to the guide but as of yet I've been busy. I will be getting to that soon. I will try to update the first post as soon as possible. I don't use SNEEK+DI so I'm not real clear on this but if you are following the guide I believe after all is done you can access the menu by pressing start on the GC controller. If someone would like to write up a quick little explanation of this I would gladly add it to the first post.

Just added:

Wii Game File and Folder Structure (The Easy Way)
Download "WiiJManager" The Multiplataform Wii Game Manager
Open up WiiJManager and choose where the drive/folder your games are located
It will then identify the game/s
Then right click the game and choose "convert to SNEEK"
When done converting rename the folder to what you like and place it on your drive if not already there. (Thanks zon7 and Wiimm)

You are correct about selecting games when using SNEEK + DI, but here are some more details:

Your emulated NAND needs to be 4.2e or 4.2u (r79 and up), and you need to have font.bin located in the root of the SD card. Also, a GC controller needs to be plugged into the 1st port. Once the system menu has loaded, you press start on the GC controller to access the game selection menu. Use the d-pad to scroll through the games and press A to select the game. Next, press start again to return to the system menu.

If everything is working, whatever game is currently in the disc channel will disappear (i.e. you'll see the eject disc animation), and the disc channel will appear empty. Click on the disc channel and then it will load up the banner for whatever game you chose.

Thanks again Choked for setting up this thread. It's really great to have all this info nicely presented in your first post.

Thanks for the info xcrowman, I appreciate it. I'll add this to the first post as soon as possible, right now I'm getting ready to watch the Mayweather and Mosely fight so I'll be back in about an hour to make the changes.

PEACE ,,ii,

EDIT: ADDED TO THE FIRST POST

Accessing the SNEEK+DI Menu
:
Your emulated NAND needs to be 4.2e or 4.2u (with SNEEK+DI r79 and up).
You need to have font.bin located in the root of the SD card.
A GC controller needs to be plugged into the 1st port.

Use the d-pad to scroll through the games and press A to select the game.
Press start again to return to the system menu.
If everything is working, whatever game is currently in the disc channel will disappear (i.e. you'll see the eject disc animation)
The disc channel will then appear empty.
Click on the disc channel,
It will then load up the banner for whatever game you chose. (Thanks xcrowman)

Stupid question, if the game title in the SNEEK+DI menu is either "Sample game title (Wii)" (which it is for a bunch of games for me) or a mess of unintelligible characters, that probably means the ISO I ripped to extract is corrupted and I need to rerip from disc again?

So I just re-ripped A Boy and His Blob this weekend (using SuperDump for a 1:1 iso, and to reiterate, from a retail disc), because it was showing "Sample Game Title". Checking the rip from retail disc in both SNEEK+DI and in WiiScrubber, I still get that as the game title (for both partitions in WiiScrubber). Just to make sure it wasn't an issue with my disc, maybe a scratch or something, I rented it from Gamefly using a free trial, and still have the same issue.

I'm guessing that just means that a few random games seem to be mastered incorrectly, and there's no way to fix it, unfortunately. Though maybe if there's any way to edit the title in whichever file SNEEK+DI pulls it from (maybe through a hex edit or something?) I'd love to know.

just add to the guide that the Gamecube controller has to be plugged before booting the Wii.
Connecting it once the system menu is showing doesn't work.
added, Thanks

hm crediar uploaded discEX 0.3. just for your information

Thanks for pointing that out. A fresh release, only 11 DL's

Just ripped a couple of games, the operation went fast! Need to test them now. Hopefully I don't get the dreaded "Sample Game Title" error.

Ha, I wasn't sure where you were talking about him uploading it to, though I just figured it out. It's uploaded to the Sneek Google Code download page.

Anyone successfully running brawl of USB? (sneek DI) I can navigate the menus and watch replays etc, but when I click on the vs screen (or w/ever) the game just freezes.

And I have the powercycle bug too lol.
