I don't want to use discs. That's why I want to copy all of my original game discs into my harddisk.

I think what @djbubba2002 is saying is he doesn't load the games from disc. most likely he loads them on the drive from an iso.

And I have copied a few games from wiiflow to my HD. One of the later revisions added the auto-install prompt when you insert a disc while wiiflow is running.

The game installation bug does need to be fixed. It's a basic feature of any USB loader to copy a game from the disk to the hard drive and it's broken at the moment. I copy my original games to my hard drive and to do that I need to revert back to r25.

Trailers? So I'm going to watch a video of a game that I intentionally downloaded? Probably is great for people who randomly download games, but if I'm getting a certain game, I know what it's going to be about, and thus negates the point of having such a useless feature.

Now... if it's "banner" loading instead, that's a different story.

i dont see the point in "Trailer" viewing, you have the game already so why would you need to view the trailer for it? you already know what its like case you've bought and played it....

adding steaming media to a USB Loader is IMHO pointless unless your gonna a features to be able to play other formats like MPlayer can but that would ruin WiiFlow completely and would basically turn it into GX with pointless features no one will use after the first use

if the new devs are gonna add random features then i think the app should be renamed and maade with a new GUI or its gonna ruin WiiFlow image completely for the newer users

that just my 2 cents and opinions

ok seems like a decent feature but is that a new bug with delayed banners sounds playing? WiiFlow normally plays them instantly

Very hard too see, but looks like it works good! Is your play button on the bottom? is that new or is yours/mine backwards? lol Sorry i cant read the text on it, too low quality vid ; ; but thanks for the up!
Also it seems the banner sound plays much later than mine, could just be the camera

when you go over 600 games you will get a delay in wiiflow ..

Good day to everyone. I have downloaded Wiiflow last year and everything seemed to work then. I haven't played my Wii in quiote some time.. but now everytime I try to load games, I come upon a black screen that says DSI Code exception error.

What's wrong? I am using a Seagate FreeAgent Go 320gb and use WBFS Manager 3.0 to put in games by the way.

Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Download R42 from Google code site http://code.google.com/p/wiiflow (use 249 version if your games are on WBFS drive)
And update Cios 249 to the latest rev (19)

and delete wiiflow.ini just to make sure

Thanks for the help.
I just have a few questions.. what do you mean by delete wiiflow.ini?

I also downloaded the r42_259.dol but how do I install it? I know wads are used through the wad manager but what about dol files?

TeenTin, are you on NTFS? Because installing to NTFS doesn't work, because we use NTFS-3G in read only mode. There are known problems with writing to NTFS, check out the USB GX thread.

I quitte agree, actually. In my opinion trailers are a complete waste of time, and it's a feature that most people won't use. Therefor, I'm gonna hide it, so people will not be bothered with this thing. The code to play these videos is from WiiXplorer, written by Dimok. Adding it was quitte easy, and it almost didn't affect the filesize of the loader. That's the only reason I added it. Dimok is known to deliver stable code, so I have no worries there. Anyway, if you don't use it, it won't bug you.

I saw some other comments about this being a useless feature: agreed. Bug djbubba with this

And pepxl, you are right about the delay. That's because that ass (
tongue.gif
) has over 600 games on his drive. When using WBFS files from FAT or NTFS, it has to find the file you're actually clicking. When loading wiiflow, it will scan the directory, and return a list of discheaders. Those headers don't contain the original filename, so when you click a game, it has to look it up again. Anyway, you can imagine that being a pretty decent search when you have that much files. Second, for now, I've added a button to play movies, but I think that that will be gone. I don't like it, and I'm sure the themers won't like it. The button is only shown when a trailer is available, which is also a lookup. When I commit my code, that button will be gone, and the delay which the button brings too.

One WBFS partition. That is, the most basic situation.

r-win, can you disable the "Install" button if the setting is set to NTFS? (unless that's already done)

Oh great. So if we want to use it, we'll have to put in the short trailer in there ourselves? And even then they need to be in THP format? That's INCREDIBLY troublesome, and something that is hardly called a "feature" if it comes with such an inconvenience; All for a sub 1-minute video of a game that you can be playing instead of watching. So yes, I won't be using this "feature", and I'm sure 99% of WiiFlow users won't be either; that's a given. We don't need to be told with an attitude of "it's in no matter what, so stop whining and ignore it".

And I'm putting this here since people seems to think that it'll excuse them from making such truthful statements (it doesn't): "But that's just my opinion."

Yes, Dimok's code is very stable. I was just afraid that it might be the start of a stream of useless add-ons because two or three people are begging for it. After reading your post, I was glad that it isn't going to be a big deal (small code addition and no hit on performance) and that WiiFlow won't be heading in that direction any time soon (hopefully). The majority of WiiFlow users have already voiced their opinions on features that should be added at the googlecode site, and we'd rather not stray from them to cater to a feature that only 1 to 2 users seems to go "gaga" over.

Well, installation should be disabled on NTFS, but that could've been a bug easily.
@Teentin, I'll try to fix this in the next revision.

Yep, agreed! But for the record, I refused to support any other format than THP, and the reason is clear (I think). I don't want to build another mplayer clone, because the mplayer team is far more skilled than I am at doing media stuff. Secondly, a THP video is just a stream of JPG files, for which we already have the code to display them. Downside, it makes them big, and you have to put them on your drive manually, OR, if a host can be found, they can be streamed (I think) directly.

Again, agreed. I don't have the time (and I don't want to) to create a feature hogged loader yet again. USB GX is full of features, and that's why some people like it. Other people don't like that, and that's fine.

Maybe I should make this feature a compile time variable, so it's excluded by default builds...hm...

the png files are not the problem, those will be fine, it's the cache file that is created after new covers have been added manually or downloaded. If you put the covers on the sd card, the cache files will be fine, after that you could copy the cache files to the HDD again and load from there. Works fine for me

. Let's hope r-win will be able to tackle this problem soon
