p90 x would probly kill him, eat less to help with that water helps fill you up so drink before and during a meal, water is great for help keeping you healthy, never skip breakfast. Skipping that meal screws you up for the rest of the day pretty much, try to eat every 5 hours or so, and make it little meals, if you need a snack to get you to your next meal use something like carrot sticks with fat free ranch dip.

Also make your own weights, a gallon jug filled with water makes a decent weight its a bit over 8lbs, or fill it with heavy objects, pennies, sand. All sorts of things you can do for weights with out having to buy them, if you have a baby brother use him, that way you can play with him and tone your muscles a little bit, you do not need a lot of weight to help you lose weight, a bit of toning can help you burn fat.

Don't listen to anybody telling you not to eat. That is not the correct thing to do at all. You can still eat pretty much anything you want as long as you don't go overboard. The best thing to do is exercise. To lose fat you need to do some cardio exercises, weight lifting is mostly for building muscles. You said you pulled either you quad or hamstrings, I don't know if you are able to exercise on an elliptical machine or not. If not, then swimming laps is a great cardio exercise.

stop eating junkfood completely and stop drinking soda, drink something like apple juice instead, it still has sugar in it, but not that much like soda. also do a lot of sports

but all of this will only work if you have a vision of a better time you want to come in front of you

BTW: I never eat breakfast and I'm quite slim...hm

That's not good...you need fiber in your diet. If you don't get enough, you may have problems using the bathroom to do the #2.

But pretty much everyone has said what to do:

1. Change your diet. Cut the junk food, and watch your calorie intake.
2. Lose weight=more cardio

After doing it for a while you get use to it. I went from 240lbs at 5'7 to 190lbs at 5'9. And I'm still dropping.

I don't see a link between the two, unless the only source of fiber for you is the breakfast cereal, in which case you're eating wrong.

OK amigo I know it's hard to eat the way you want if you're parents are making your meals but it's essential that your diet is good for you to make ANY worthwhile progress. Seeing as you're whole family are trying to get fit/lose weight too then they too should follow these tips.

- Brown bread only, includes sandwiches, general eating bread.
- No carbs with fats, you're not going to want excess energy turning into stored fat.
- Protein in every meal, this is going to get you those hench legs (from the cycling) and arms from those weights
- Limit heavy carb meals to after workouts, this will help you recover quickly, remember to include protein
- Wait at least an hour after working out to eat, your body is still doing work and using energy stored in your body, if you eat it will use the energy you've just given it instead of burning that fat

As for exercising, I'd got for HIIT, high intensity interval training (on your bike), do 30 seconds at max power then a minute at 80% of your power, then 30 seconds at max power. I use power because I can't think of a better word.

Weight training should las max 45 minutes in total of lifting, you have a limited amount of testosterone. Although with puberty you're going to be drowning in it, this is the best time to get muscle-y.

Issy, if you are fat, then in a way you're lucky. Fat people have more reserves to turn into muscle, so if you change all that, then you should have much greater reserves. One thing I suggest is starting a martial art, or going to the gym every other day. Either gives you routine exercise rather than just sporadic exercise that you may do for a week then not have the willpower to continue.

As for your thigh, muscles are a tricky thing. They can take as little as an hour to heal or never heal, depending on what you tear and where you tear it. The tendon, when ripped never heals, however if you bite through your tongue, like I did las year, it can stop bleeding and begin to knit itself back together within an hour. If you get lots of good rest, and take it easy then it should take a maximum of 2 weeks to heal.

Forgot to say, if you intend to do a lot of exercise at one particular time, have some high carbohydrate food like pasta about an hour and a half beforehand. Just to give you energy that you can burn off. Whatever you do though, do not 'diet'. Eating less fast foods will help, but it is not necessary. The exercise should do 90-95% of the work for you, and if you go on a 'thinning diet' then the moment you start eating normally you will put on inches again. Also, be warned; if you exercise, you should NOT lose weight. You will get thinner, and but you will put on weight, because muscle weighs more than fat.

I personally started doing walks outside my house and stopped drinking sugary soda (switched it for diet soda) and I suddenly dropped in waist size so much that I fit into my jeans from 6th grade(which are from almost 6 years ago)

@shinryuji, thanks for the information BUT i disagree about the fats. They will definitely need to be cut down if i want any progress. And about getting my legs "hench" i don't think that will happen because my legs are really weak and i have massive thighs
sad.gif
i mean my legs start to hurt when i walk like 3 flights of stairs. But when my bike come i'll try real hard, i just hate that i have to wait till tuesday... and yes diet is really important!

PS: I'm quite proud of my self because today i had NO snacks just ate at meal times

Mate I know how the the fat thighs feel! Mine used to be so big and ugly, now they're smaller but still quite big, as you lose weight your body proportionality starts to even out and you'll look so damn sexy in the mirror lol

Nah lol, that's how I was/am. Nobody likes stairs! Eat at school though, regular food means that your body won't store the fat and you'll have more energy to learn. You need those grades!

If you can, buy a treadmill. Jog 30 mins a day 4 times a week. Also eat less. It's really simple, I've actually lost over 60lbs now. I weighed 252 now I weigh 191.
Problems with that are that issy is only 14, treadmills are expensive, and the whole "I've pulled a muscle in my thigh" thing

No they're not if you're smart. I got one about a month ago for $95 that is used in great shape. Sure if you pay retail you're gonna get raped, but if you use craigslist like I did and be smart with it you can do really well for next to nothing compared. I honestly got it due to an odd situation with an overweight dog with some issues and it's helping. I though want to use it, but I've got issues with health going back to before I could talk that make it hard to jog/run very long at all as I can't get the air due to my heart or something into my muscles and I start gasping, get pains and crap out.

Fun I know, but I intend with that free ride to give it a whack.

Hell as you said 30min 4x a week can't be that hard to work up to and if that knocked 60lbs off you more or less just jogging that's encouraging.
