Alright I"m using the GBA Backup Tool V.021 by Rudolph. This one allows backup of EEPRom saves. My biggest question is how do I use these things... I mean They are different and I see that these roms need to be patched or something... To top it off I would like to write the save back to the EEPROM so yeah if someone could just clarify quickly what needs to be done I'd enjoy it. On more thing is there a EEProm save backup that works on just a DS?
Use the VB script in the zip file to fix any EEPROM saves you get off a retail game. Assuming your on a windows box.
If you want something that does work wtih EEPROM saves without messing with the files further, you will need the action replay/gameshark device. Those are the only retail devices that work. You will then need to use VBA's import/export functions to get a working .sav file to use with flashcarts.
As for the DS, use the homebrew. For GBA/SP use the action replay or gameshark.

you can, you have to use the VB script to fix it to put it back on or fix it to be able to read it.

How do you NOT UNDERSTAND the function of a script.

Alright I understood what the script does I just tought it was a one way deal not both ways. So basically it converts the eeprom save to a "normal" one and then you use the scrip to change it again. It is not being rude, some people have a problem if it is spelled out in terms a 5 year old can understand. I am also getting you to avoid any known pitfalls without explaining those pitfalls.

Brick it? Yikes that would suck anyways thanks for the info. So just to sum it up. Whenever transfering EEPROM is involved use the VB script. I assume you just put the save file in the same folder as the VB script and double click on it and done right? Anyways thanks for the info.
Yes, just use the VB when you have to move it between a real cart and VBA for a EEPROM save type.
There are already several people that bricked a 3in1 with a unconvertetd EEPROM save. A new one bricked thiers by flashing a sram.bin to NOR. That one was more by accedent from the way he first described it.
The worst thing on a real cart would be just losing all your save data if you forgot a step.
