Hello, this is my first time replying,
I'll try to do it my self when I get the game
But I already have MP3, and on my usb drive, I was thinking of making (or someone making) 2 seperate games for MP1 and 2, each with the Japanese opening banner and translated title/menu screen, and once the game starts, it boots through the trilogy iso. The reason I ask this is because I really like the original title screens, and I would like to have all 3 games shown on my usb menu.
Actually, to make things easier, does someone have an english patch for mp2? so i can get mp1 & 2 on my wii.

On a side note, is there anyway we can make the mp3 save file work with trilogy?

I know so many questions, but thanks in advance

Nintendo announced a while ago that MP3 files wouldn't be compatible with MPTrilogy. About the banner thing, I'm not sure of what can be done

First, make 3 backups of your iso. So you now have 4 files.

In the first iso, delete all MP2&3 stuff (by replacing with 0kb files).
In the second iso, delete all MP1&3 stuff (by replacing with 0kb files).
In the third iso, delete all MP1&2 stuff (by replacing with 0kb files).
Keep the 4th iso, it's just a backup.

Then, just replace rs5fe_p.dol with rs5mp1_p.dol for MP1 iso, rs5mp2_p.dol for MP2 iso and rs5mp3_p.dol for MP3 iso.

Now, you should change titles ID of each games and put them of your USB disk.

Well, I'm trying to follow all the examples from this thread, but it just isn't working out for me. Here's what I did.

I got Wii Scrubber v1.0 because that's what has been recommended. I loaded the Metroid Trilogy iso and when I right clicked on a file in the iso I saw a Save option and a Load option. The problem was that the Load option was always faded out and I could never use the Load function to replace MP3 files with 0kb files.

So I loaded the iso with Wii Scrubber v1.4 and commenced with replacing the majority of the files in the MP3 folder with a 0kb file. Once I got the size down to around 4400 Mb I decided that was probably small enough. Then I extracted the rs5fe_p.dol, which is the main menu I think, and replaced the metroid 3 dol with it. Then I closed Wii scrubber 1.4

I relaunched wii scrubber 1.0 and loaded the iso that I had been editing in 1.4. It showed that it was the right size that I had made it and all the files I had overwritten were still 00, or the empty file. I clicked the Clean and Save button, as has been instructed, and saved a the new iso. This new iso was small enough to burn to a single layer dvd and I was getting excited. After I burned it I put it in my Wii, 4.1U - cios rev13, and launched the game with BackupLauncher Gamma. The disc loaded up fine and I was able to navigate the main menu. I was getting very excited. Then I clicked on Metroid Prime 1 to launch the game and it did that half screen of green thing and took me back to the wii menu. This is what happens when I try to launch MP2 as well.

So what could I be missing? I zeroed out enough files in MP3 to fit it on a single layer dvd, I used wii scrubber 1.0 and saved the iso. I seemed to have done everything that should have made it work. Help!

Im having the same problem

EDIT: I think i found the solution you need to patch the game to use ISO249 instead of IOS35 but i'm out of dvds to try it now.

I already stated to patch to 249 in my method. See the last post on page 5.

I also wrote up a new, easier step by step tutorial as skunks method contains some loooooooooooooong, tedious and completely unnecessary steps.

This guide will allow to to create a DVD5 of Metroid Prime 1 & 2 from the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Unlike the torrent here, this method will not crash the game if MP3 is selected - instead it will simply reload the game

MP1, MP2 and MP2 Multiplayer have been tested and working on my NTSC Wii, System Menu 4.0U, NeoGamma v7, cIOS v13b and also with cIOS v14

Things you will need:
An unscrubbed DVD9 iso of Metroid Prime Trilogy
Wiiscrubber 1.4
Wiiscrubber 1.0
IOSPatcher 1.1

1 - Open the full unscrubbed DVD9 iso in Wiiscrubber 1.4

2 - Right click on WII DISC in the middle section and choose Shuffle Partitions (This moves the update partition to the bottom so that when it's deleted, all of the game data will be in the beginning rather than the end of the partition)

3 - Once the process is finished, right click on click on Partition:0 and select Delete Partition & accept the deletion

4 - In the middle section click on the + sign next to Partition:0 and scroll down to rs5fe_p.dol, right click the file, choose Extract and save it to your desired location on your hard drive

5 - In Wiiscrubber right click on rs5mp3_p.dol, choose Replace and select the file you extracted in step 4 (this prevents the game from black-screening if MP3 is chosen from the menu)

6 - Close Wiiscrubber 1.4 (do not need to scrub as it will be shrunk in the next step)

7 - Now open the iso with Wiiscrubber 1.0, click Clear and Save ISO, choose your desired save location and then close Wiiscrubber when the process finishes

8 - Drag the NEW iso you created in step 7 onto IOSPatcher.exe, enter the number 249, press enter and then enter again to exit the patcher

8 - Burn the new iso, load with NeoGamma v7 and enjoy!

Would you please explain more why Step 2 is necessary ? Thanks !

Because it moves partition:1 to the front of the image. If you delete the update partition and just leave the data partition at the end, it will still be at the end when loaded into Wiiscrubber 1.0. It's the same theory that skunk used for deleting all of the files one by one - just without the hassle,... to prevent any possibility of any missing files in MP1/2.

I wouldn't say it's 100% necessary, just as skunks method isn't 100% necessary. But personally I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Nice job on the tutorial.

I just figured out how to do it my self though.
Now, I'm tweaking the iND DVD5 version.

(Yes, I was to lazy xP )

Edit:
Why is the IOS patch to 249 really needed?

Because cioscorp would fail?

I have a mod chip anyways.

But for friends it would be good to know.

Finally! Thank you so much. Finally a guide that I can follow step by step and will actually work. Great guide, couldn't be better. It's actually quite quick and easy once you know what to do.

Now I can finally play Metroid Prime 1 & 2 in 480p. I already had them loading from usb loader gx, but it was in 480i. The only reason I wanted the game on a disc was so that it would play in 480p. Of course I'd rather play it from the usb if someone could figure out/fix it so that it would load in 480p, but for now this is great.

Thanks again for everyone who contributed to this thread and especially D34DL1N3R for the sweet guide.

I have no idea. I just know that it won't work on my soft-modded Wii without patching first. I burned 4 discs to make sure, two non patched & two patched. The full DVD9 also doesn't work for me unless it's patched. I think it's a soft-mod thing, but then again someone on BCG said the iND release didn't work at all on there Wiikey, but that my method worked perfectly.

Anyway... thanks everyone for the thanks.

And thanks to skunk123punk for the Wiiscrubber 1.0 tip. I had been working on it for hours on end before even knowing about this thread, but couldn't figure out how to get the iso size down after deleting all the files - when the entire time all I needed was 1.0. Then I figured that the deleting part wasn't even necessary.

If anyone is still interested I found a way to load MP1 and MP2 in 480p from USB! It was posted by rypaul on a different thread. I've tested it and it works:
Use Neogamma R7 to load your usb partition and and change the settings so that:
alt dol: disc
Force video: ntsc480p
Patch video: All

Then launch the game and select either the MP1 or MP2 dol and it will boot in 480p. I tried this with cios r13a but it didn't work. I updated to rev14 and it worked like a charm. MP3 won't load from usb now because I'm using rev14, but I don't care because I already have Corruption on my harddrive.

Now I can play MP1 and MP2 in 480p from usb. I also have a working disc so that I can change settings if I have to and play multiplayer. Could I ask for more? Probably, but for now this is working great.

Thanks rypaul!!

Or you can stay on cios r13a/b and just extract the main.dol, rs5mp1_p.dol and rs5mp2_p.dol files using Wiiscrubber then using Generic Wii Patcher V1.2 patch each dol by searching then fixing the Error #001 and then on rs5mp1_p.dol and rs5mp3_p.dol change the video mode by searching for video modes then click advance and select NTSC 480p and click change all video modes and save, then replace the patched dols back into the ISO using Wiiscrubber.

You should now be able to boot in 480p using any USB loader but you still need to use the alt-dol select for the game you want to play.

This has been a great thread. While I can get the think to work via usb hdd, multiplayer won't work. Also, at times I have had problems starting the game when nothing was changed. This makes it all more simple. Now I hope my Wii will read them because this retail disc I have here, while my wii could copy it to my hdd, it couldn't load it to play from disc and I don't know why.

The one the tutorial says that is required for this is v1.0, but there are 2 versions of it: 1.0 and 1.0a. So which one is it?
