same with the M3real...most of them are just contact issues, people are making a big deal out of itPharaohsVizier said:I think my defective card might be because of contact issues. The thing is all my other carts are detected just fine on my DS Lite, but the faulty card doesn't show up unless I use the paper technique. But then again, it still hangs on the DS Lite and DSi with the paper padding. In any case, it's already shipped out.
have you tried the paper technique as PV did? I think your problem is a contact issue, because it looked like the whole process went well.azndeathmage said:Hey guys.
I emailed Gamezway and they wanted a video to prove my M3i Zero isn't working.
I made one and thought I'd share it with you guys.
M3i Zero not working
Sorry the video completely sucks balls.
Hopefully I can get a replacement now.

For the record, paper technique didn't work for me, it made it detectable again, but it still hanged on the loading screen. Also even if paper technique solves it, a contact issue is STILL a defect imo. People shouldn't have to resort to sticking a role of paper in their slot 1 or their cart to fix something that should work.
i had the same problem. my card was not being detected but i did this and it started working again.squall_leonhart said:Well from my experience when I inserted the M3i it was not being detected aswell, in fact I had to push it down to where the card would go to the lock in/out part, but since you can't play while holding the card in the right place I figured it had to be something with the connector of the card, so what I did was simple, turned the card around so the the label would be up front while holding it between my fingers and pushed softly and gently on the label as to where the connectors are on the other side, so pushing the card connectors a little bit forward (not sure if that actually did the trick of course) but after i done this and inserted the card again the M3i would show up on the DSi, and the M3i been working perfectly ever since.
hope this might help some people, if not was worth a shot
PharaohsVizier said:I did, I already sent out my defective cart too.
Kittymat said:M3 Reals have the same issue, I now open the cards up and put 3 layers of electrical tape on the back of the circuit board behind the connector pins - solves the issue.

As for the tutorial, you do realize that this is an EXTREMELY simple fix. If you understand the concept, you won't really need any pictures. Basically what is happening is called a contact issue. It is a fancy way to say that the exposed part of the M3i Zero, the gold/copper colored teeth aren't properly connecting to the DSi's pins. This is because they just aren't touching, the M3i Zero may be at a certain slant or something. To correct this, you push the M3i Zero closer to the inside of the DSi slot
So this is the slot 1 with the M3i Zero inside it:

I M3i Zero I
I Contacts I
---------------------------
The word contacts is where they connect. What the electrical tape does is it thickens the M3i Zero so that it pushes against the top of the diagram, and as a result the M3i Zero reaches closer to the bottom. The same theory is applied for the paper technique I used earlier discussed, except his is more permanent. Basically I just wedge a folded piece of paper into the slot to push the M3i Zero closer to the pins. Not really rocket science, and it sounds harder than it really is.
