Following PharaohsVizier's advice I wrote an email to the gamezway retailer where I purchased my M3i Zero.
I requested an exchange for a working cart or full refund.
Hopefully they will reply back soon with an answer.

Whilst my M3i is almost perfect, I noticed something quite odd. I usually play on battery, but it was getting low so I charged it when I played. My MicroSD card went wrong when I plugged the charger in. I didn't think much of it, unplugged the M3i, took out the MSD and then put it in again. It worked like normal afterwards. Seconds before the orange light went out (to indicate charging had completed..) my MSD died again.

Any clues as to why this is happening?

Well from my experience when I inserted the M3i it was not being detected aswell, in fact I had to push it down to where the card would go to the lock in/out part, but since you can't play while holding the card in the right place I figured it had to be something with the connector of the card, so what I did was simple, turned the card around so the the label would be up front while holding it between my fingers and pushed softly and gently on the label as to where the connectors are on the other side, so pushing the card connectors a little bit forward (not sure if that actually did the trick of course) but after i done this and inserted the card again the M3i would show up on the DSi, and the M3i been working perfectly ever since.

hope this might help some people, if not was worth a shot

Had no issues with mine at all either and for reference My LED is Blue

those that have problems with it just hanging (with the exception of PharaohsVizie who has a couple of working cards to compare with) ...try making sure you have a blank SD card to start with and add the core update dat file on its own perform the upgrade once it has upgraded remove the mem card put it back in your computer and delete the dat file from the card its no longer needed!

Now (follow the guide in my signature review of the M3i ZERO) of how to download and install the system files/loader ... and make sure you also have not got too many games in the ROOT folder if your adding games at the same time!

Best thing to do is make a folder or folders and put your games in that folder/s ....Sakura does not have any folder limits to browse for a file

and recheck to see if it works ..if its not working check it in another ds if you have access to one and also check that its firmly inserted into the ds slot when you put it in .. some users I've noticed are suffering with the connectivity issues pressing just a tiny bit further in with the M3i card can usually resolve this (don't do it while the ds is on it can be bad for the card) press it at either corner and the middle to make sure its in and test again

if your still having issues borrow or try another sd card (this may or may not make a difference as PharaohsVizier stated he's got several mem cards and the one being used works fine in other cards) so guessing its connectivity issues!

Hey guys.
I emailed Gamezway and they wanted a video to prove my M3i Zero isn't working.
I made one and thought I'd share it with you guys.
M3i Zero not working
Sorry the video completely sucks balls.
Hopefully I can get a replacement now.

Does anyone else have an issue with the Blue LED blinking indefinetly?

I formated my Kingston 4gb MicroSD, copied over the core, plugged in the cables as directed, and the blue LED just keeps blinking. I wonder if it was a known issue.

EDIT:

I fixed it. I noticed on the videos that the LED was blinking slowly, while mine was blinking quickly. I tried fiddling with the card and cable but nothing worked. Finally, I physically flexed the card slightly and the blinking changed to the slow blinking, and then turned off. Working perfectly now.

I think my defective card might be because of contact issues. The thing is all my other carts are detected just fine on my DS Lite, but the faulty card doesn't show up unless I use the paper technique. But then again, it still hangs on the DS Lite and DSi with the paper padding. In any case, it's already shipped out.
same with the M3real...most of them are just contact issues, people are making a big deal out of it
try reject and insert it differently like push the card in on the center, left, or right.

have you tried the paper technique as PV did? I think your problem is a contact issue, because it looked like the whole process went well.

i got my m3i earlier in the mail today. so, i carefully read the flashing instructions and did everything exactly like it said. after i inserted the m3i in my dsi, it said that there's no game inserted. at that moment, i was afraid i may have gotten one of the bad batch. i took the m3i out and pushed it back into the slot with a little more pressure this time. sure enough, my dsi recognized it as a game cart and displayed the m3 logo on the launcher bar

i had manually copied the system folder from m3 sakura earlier into my microSD card. when i tried booting it, the dsi showed some error message and shut down. so, i copied over the m3 real system folder instead and it works. the interface didn't look all that great, so i tried using the installer for the m3 sakura and let it do its thing to the microSD card. for whatever reason, i can now boot using m3 sakura. it's been working great so far

Lol sorry

For the record, paper technique didn't work for me, it made it detectable again, but it still hanged on the loading screen. Also even if paper technique solves it, a contact issue is STILL a defect imo. People shouldn't have to resort to sticking a role of paper in their slot 1 or their cart to fix something that should work.

Very true.

Add me and my M3i to the list of not working. Did the flash just like i was supposed to and it is not detected in my ds-lite or dsi.

I just emailed 4coolday.com about it hope to hear back soon

M3 Reals have the same issue, I now open the cards up and put 3 layers of electrical tape on the back of the circuit board behind the connector pins - solves the issue.

Can you post a small tutorial or some pics on how to do this? This is my first flashcart and i am a little hesitant to open it up.

PharaohsVizier: what do you mean by contacting them on msn? I went to the site and the only way i seem to be able to contact them is by writing a message. How exactly did you find them on MSN? Also, when you say at night do you mean eastern time?

Cheech, you can reach them through MSN, they are on generally at night.

As for the tutorial, you do realize that this is an EXTREMELY simple fix. If you understand the concept, you won't really need any pictures. Basically what is happening is called a contact issue. It is a fancy way to say that the exposed part of the M3i Zero, the gold/copper colored teeth aren't properly connecting to the DSi's pins. This is because they just aren't touching, the M3i Zero may be at a certain slant or something. To correct this, you push the M3i Zero closer to the inside of the DSi slot

So this is the slot 1 with the M3i Zero inside it:
___________________
I M3i Zero I
I Contacts I
---------------------------

The word contacts is where they connect. What the electrical tape does is it thickens the M3i Zero so that it pushes against the top of the diagram, and as a result the M3i Zero reaches closer to the bottom. The same theory is applied for the paper technique I used earlier discussed, except his is more permanent. Basically I just wedge a folded piece of paper into the slot to push the M3i Zero closer to the pins. Not really rocket science, and it sounds harder than it really is.

Wow.
I just tried your paper technique and now its actually working!
It's a bitch to put in and out of the DSi, but now I know its just a contact issue.
Now how exactly would I go about this permanent solution?
