Does the wii even start the HBC without a drive connected? I thought it doesn't ==> not a loader issue

My drive doesn't accept discs anymore but sometimes acts weird, when I turn it off completely (red LED) and turn it on sometimes it makes the sound of receiving the disc without stopping and I can't load any ISO, but if when I turn it on and the console realizes that hasn't any disc to receive, when it doesn't make the constant noise, I can play the ISO's.

Yeah, I know it's weird but that's my problem. :/

key bug fix for me (though I can appreciate the need for greater usb compatibility) is to get the USB Loader to accept other USB devices are connected to the Wii ( LAN adapter, Wii speak, mics, instruments).

but think about it. one day you decide to delet a game cause you dont like it anymore or you need more space for a better one. you delet this games and installe the new. through this a other game gets broken and you delet this broken game and reinstall it. now this game works fine again but than it happens again another games gets broken....
you see this sucks

this bug can destroy your whole games collection

just Gamecube support and In Game Reset for Gamecube games.

I just want to finally get rid of all my Nintendo systems and save a bunch of hassle from loading up discs and systems to play my favorite games.

I would be forever grateful to have

Zelda Wind Waker
Mario Sunshine
Smash Bros Melee
Smash Bros Brawl
Mario Galaxy
Zelda Four Swords
Zelda Twilight Princess
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil REMAKE & 0
Mario Kart Wii
Mario Kart Double Dash

all installed on my Wii System-Menu (I own all originals).

I want to see:
- Wii Disc Covers or Wii Banners on each ISO selected
- installl GC isos aswell
- support for cheats
- support to hide advance functions like install, delete, format

I lol'ed at this. 3 out of 4 of these have already been done.

idiot this is the shit that should be done right by the original coder and not some hack and slash version that was released by adding 17 lines of code.

wanin will not implement the already available features in a much different way the guys here did it. i might take some of the already usable code and incorporates it into his next release. would be surprised and it would be absolutely conceptional.

I totally agree with the people who say there's too many USB loader topics.
I just rescued my Wii from the horrible 4.0 protection. That's kept me busy for 1,5 weeks now. That's why I was not following the whole USB topic at all. But yesterday I finally managed to fix it. I have cIOS now and the new 4.0 menu with WAD installing capabilities.

So yesterday I thought about looking into this new USB HD thing, since I can finally do it now. Well because of the INCREDIBLE amount of topics about USB Loaders I hardly can find the "ins" and "outs" anymore on GBATEMP.

In the end it was easier to find good solid topics and tutorials about this on other websites than looking on here!!

I think it's a serious issue here on GBATEMP. There's too much clutter. People are making new topics left right and center (sometimes even multiple topics with the same name at the same time).

It's just insane to make new topics like "I can't get USB loader to work"!!!!

I tend to just read A LOT first even before posting a comment, let alone a whole new topic.

So sadly I think the quality of information is going down the drain here on GBATEMP.

It's already been mentioned before but I think it might be work pointing out again - GC games use GC mode, part of which means that the clocks are halved and the extra peripherals (SD, USB, etc) are disabled by default.

As such, it would be a tiny bit difficult to code it not only to keep USB active, but to actually find a way to use it in a way the GC was never intended (the Wii is just a souped up GC afterall). Not saying it's impossible, but would it really be so simple that Waninkoko could code it with a week or 2 of effort (when he also has his own life to contend with)?

i.e. we'll be waiting for some time before any form of USB GC loader is available (possibly when they work out how to get GC games running successfully in Wii mode).
