I am planning to replace the shell on my DS lite, and I want to try taking a broken one apart so I can gain a little more confidence about taking mine apart. The person selling it to me said some oil from an air freshener got on the touch screen. It looks pretty messed up so I will probably offer something really cheap. Here it is

EDIT: It doesn't turn on at all.

Okay thanks! Maybe if i am successful with opening it up, I could figure out why it doesn't turn on and replace the touch screen and hinge.

If the liquids from the air freshener can get under the touch screen, it must be all over the mother board.

Definitely get it if it's cheap. even if the board is fried you can practice lifting and closing the little tabs and inserting/removing the cables. It is much easier to do this once you have a "feel' for it. You may end up saving yourself from a lot of potential damage to your own DS. Also very handy as a reference console if you get stuck
