Another World and Flashback were two of my favourite games from way back when and believe it or not, I was playing Flashback only yesterday on the Snes, wishing they would remake the game.

And today I come on to find this, and to be frank, I'm disappointed. The original Flashback, and indeed Another World, had such cool dark settings this one just seems terrible and cartoony. The "jungle" is seriously overdone and doesn't fit in with Conrad (who luckily seems to be the exact same Conrad as before) and you have to shoot enemies like 4 or 5 times before they die. The whole timing aspect has completely gone because of this.

And scrolling screens? What's up with that? Is this the same company that made the original because they seem to have forgotten what made these games magic. And that music? ARGH! They even have mucked up Conrad's gun sound to make it more "kiddy". I'm severely disappointed.

BTW, I don't really consider Fade to Black as part of the series since it wasn't really anything like the classics. Was on OK game in it's own right, but didn't really do it's predecessors justice.

Oh, and werwe, what is blackthorne? I love this style of game and want more. Hopefully with the new Prince of Persia they'll also make a GBA version... in 2D of course *crosses fingers*.

I played some sequel called black hole or something like that, it was a game on PSX.
i belive that game on psx is called Fade To Black (also on pc) this was the sequal to Flashback, but Fade To Black was the game that took the series to the 3d world. Is this the same game as the snes? it dont look like it & the snes version is called Flashback: Quest for Idenity not Flashback Legend, maybe theres some difference, a mini sequal or side story? the game is 24MB so since this is beta i think that change later on to 32MB so it looks like in nearly playable to the end (maybe the other langageus will cut it to 32MB?)
Yes thats the title, Fade to Black... I remember it now, thanks.

Wasn't Heart of the Alien only available for the Sega CD?
Yup. It came with Another World on Sega CD. It takes off where we left Lester in Another World. Only now you play as the helpful alien (Lester appears a couple of times though). It's not an entire game, Id call it more like a really large final level to Another World. And it has an absolutely lovely ending.

Wasn't the first one called Out of this World? Or was that just another eariler Delphine game? I had that on my dad's Mac Performa back in the day when you had to have like 6 floppy disks to run a game, and it was also on Sega Genesis.

Legend looks fun so far, the controls are exactly like the first Flashback...it looks like it's a new story with a return to the Flashback world

I thought it was called out of this world too. Maybe were wrong, I've never heard of another world.
Edit- I see now, another world and Out of this World are the same game , just diffrent releases

Amiga is an old system that ran on floppys
There is no game called Blackthrone by Blizzard.
It's called "BlackThorne" or "BlackHawk", and you don't shot grunts from Warcraft.
The game was released to both SNES and PC from what I know.. You might find the game Conan the Barbarian (AMIGA) to really similar or Prince of Persia, but the diffrence is that it's a bit more futuristic.
There is also a port for the SEGA 32X but that one isn't made by Blizzard.

You play as a guy called Kyle, you run around with your buckshot and bring down evil creatures.
IMO, the game is really great, the graphics is awesome. The sounds are creepy and nice.
The game is a bit hard though. It might get really frustrating when having to jump at a certain time, or having to wait for a long while.

Well, that's all I know (except how to actually play the game without dying

) about BlackThorne and I'd say Flashback (which isn't anywhere as good as Another World was AND it's NOT Another World 2) is a damn good similar game. Flashback 1 was released for PC, SNES, Jaguar, Genesis, Sega CD and AMIGA.

Tralalalaalaaa!! Cheers!
