Getting a Pokémon out of one Switch game and into another usually means using
Pokémon HOME, having a subscription, and a lot of patience. PKSE, an open-source
homebrew save editor for hacked Switch consoles, has just hit version 1.0
and takes a different route -- it does the whole thing on the console itself.
The headline feature is a cross-game bank. Deposit a Pokémon from one
supported game, withdraw it into another, and PKSE converts it into the
destination game's format while preserving its origin data: OT, IDs, met
location, IVs, nature, and PID. No PC, no cables, no subscription.
Version 1.0 also brings a full UI rewrite. The new HOME-style interface
uses NanoVG with 256px HD sprites, full touch controls, and scrollable
storage -- a considerable step up from earlier builds.
Supported games now span four generations:
- Gen 3: FireRed / LeafGreen
- Gen 7: Let's Go, Pikachu! / Eevee!
- Gen 8: Sword / Shield, Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl, Legends: Arceus
- Gen 9: Scarlet / Violet, Legends: Z-A
Beyond the bank, PKSE handles party and box Pokémon (species, level,
IVs/EVs, nature, ability, moves, held item, ball, OT and met data,
shininess, gender, ribbons[view-only for now]), trainer info, and item pouches with per-game
limits. A built-in Pokémon creator builds one from scratch in any supported
format, and a legality checker flags illegal values as you edit -- it's
purely informational and never blocks or alters anything. Save backup and
restore are handled on-console with retained history.
The project is open source under AGPL-3.0 license and was built using PKHeX
heavily as a reference, which the developer credits for the groundwork.
