Hi,
I wanted to share an idea for a possible Nintendo DS homebrew project.
The idea is a Sonic.EXE demake for the Nintendo DS — meaning a reimagined version of the Sonic.EXE concept built specifically for DS hardware, not a direct PC port.
Instead of trying to run modern Sonic.EXE fangames, it would be a fully rebuilt 2D horror platformer designed for the limitations of the DS, similar in spirit to how games were adapted for systems like in Resident Evil: Deadly Silence.
Possible features could include:
I understand that a direct port of PC Sonic.EXE games wouldn’t be realistic on DS hardware, but a small demake-style homebrew interpretation could work well and fit the system’s capabilities.
Just wanted to see if any DS homebrew developers would find this idea interesting or worth experimenting with.
Thanks for reading!

Possible features could include:
- 1–2 short, focused levels (maybe more in the future)
- simple 2D pixel art style
- horror atmosphere inspired by Sonic.EXE
- chase sequences and basic enemy AI
- DS-optimized performance and controls
