I just bought a 3DS XL that seller explained just needed a battery since it pillowed. I have ordered 2 different batteries and unfortunately that was not the problem. When attempting to power the system on, if the power button is pressed, the system will flash the blue power light. If the power button is held, the power light will stay on but the system will not do anything. No popping noise and backlight does not come on. So far, I have tried these fixes to no avail:
-tried powering on without sd card and with another SD card formatted to FAT32 (with boot and arm loader files (I'll have to check the SD card for the specific names of the files))
-have attempted various button combinations on startup (holding select, start, L + R + UP + A)
-left system on for 15 minutes with and without SD card
-powering on the console, waiting 30 seconds, then pressing power button
-powering on while holding Select + Start + X + Power for 7 seconds, forcing power off by removing battery, holding home and pressing power button Note: LED did not flash
-opened up system to make sure everything was plugged in and nothing looked damaged, I did not get further than removing main board by disconnecting everything and plugging back in, but did not see any visible damage
-disconnecting and reconnecting wifi chip
-blowing out SD card reader and retrying
I will note that the system does not appear to have CFW, as the SD card did not have any files that would lead me to believe that it did. There may have been other things I tried while searching online, but I think I'm close to everything I have tried thus far. I would love to get the system working and and ideas on what to try next would be very very much appreciated!!!
