Hello, I have found a small error with how SimpleEZODE creates .esv files specifically with .gg and .gb roms
For example running a game called Battletoads.gb will create a savefile named "Battletoadsesv"
or even Pokemon Red.gb will create an esv named "Pokemon Redesv",
Phantasy Star Adventure.gg makes an esv named "Phantasy Star Adventureesv"
is it possible to fix this? This isn't an issue with .gbc, only .gg and .gb files
Perhaps it has to do with how those extensions are 1 character shorter and thus deletes an extra . from the extension upon creation?
Related but this is not an issue on the og SimpleLight EZO, only DE.
EZO creates the correct Pokemon Red.esv files without the missing . character
Is there a fixed version of Simple for ODE anywhere yet that anymore knows of? I wish I could code, it's been a bit, I hope simple isn't a dead project.

Edit: It's fixed in my local tree. I'm still working on other parts at this very moment but I should have a release soon.

Update v4.0 (Original):
- Remove Bold Option
- Replace embedded PocketNES with updated PogoShell plugin
- Some UI color tweaks
Update v1.6 (DE):
- Some UI color tweaks
- Replace embedded PocketNES with updated PogoShell plugin
- Fix issue causing Game Boy and Game Gear games to have improper save file extension
The reason PocketNES was replaced was because the new 2025 version is too large to be correctly loaded the traditional way. Sounds stupid, I know, but that's just how it is.
And with that, I think I would like to put this project in maintenance mode. I'll write some more documentation for the Simple-specific manual about certain plugins but other than that, I think I'm pretty much done. I wanna thank everyone who has stuck around for all this time.
There's a couple reasons I wanna put this down, primarily that it's an old project of mine from my early teens that is bogged down by sloppy code and questionable design decisions. It's not something I really have the capability to maintain anymore.

I was really looking forward to this theme from timdmackey, but it looks like it's not coming out. It's a shame, because it's visually stunning.
I'm attaching his photo below.

Is it possible to request a feature: when viewing the recently list to scroll across like the rom names do in folders… viewing the recent list; I can’t see the filenames properly especially if they’re in subdirectories…

I tried to get this to work but so far no luck, by now I'm almost completely convinced that I must be retarded in some way.
Omega with latest Kernel and Firmware:
I did everything exactly as mentioned here and the doc.
Set up the Card.
copy Kernel of my choosing, Backup and System to root,
copy IMGS etc. to System,
rename Kernel depending on where you look to either ezkernel.bin or ezkernelnew.bin (tried both)
start up pressing R
Updating, it does. But it also deletes everything in Backup and System and doesn't reboot automatically like normal when updated but instead it states: "no kernel found" (it is my fault, really. For not backing up my files more frequently but just like that I lost a bunch of my Savegames)
I would really love to use this
Please help and excuse my sloppy english, it is not my first language

If you have the original Omega, then yes, the Simple.zip and the name ezkernel.bin is correct and the cartridge will not work with any other names. It is possible that an electrical quirk, perhaps with the contacts of your SD card with its slot prevented a proper update. Happens to me all the time, I would suggest cleaning your SD card's gold contacts.
Did that already, thought occurred to me too. cleaned the contacts from my GBA too with just the right amount of dioxit and checked my display upgrade for shorts too.

Is there any known issue with maybe older pcb revisions of the omega or something like that. I got 2 of them, both don't work... bought them maybe around 2018 but I'm not sure, few year back definitely

I've known the original omega to be rather delicate for many. I have had several friends whose units died for literally no reason. I'm probably one of the lucky ones who still has a working original Omega, and it's a unit from 2018 as well.
yeah but other than not updating to Simple it works absolutely great like day one, and like you I thought I was amongst the happy ones with a non issue EZ Omega, which is rare like you said. I will try again tomorrow and come back to you with good news, I hope
