saw this issue wayback as well and the fix is simple. disconnect.

As in put the switch in flight mode (to block wifi) and remove the ethernet cable from the dock?

That sounds simple enough but under those conditions how do you run homebrew that relies on an internet connection or are there "internet free" methods, these days, of installing NSP/XCIs ?

are you trying to run games or hb? the fix i found is to start the game, unrelated to launching any brews. as of installing nsp, yes you can do it manually without internet using pc + ns-usb loader + awoo

Mainly running games but when installing NSP I usually use the combination you mention but over the network.

Does the USB method of ns-usb just need the switch connected to the PC via a USB cable?

Bizarrely I am not getting the issue anymore - all I did was go through a hard reboot and the issue has gone away.

Did end up upgrading my version of AIWOO to the FW21 compatible one in the mean time though :)

Greetings!

I've downloaded EDEN switch emulator for Android.

Can you, please, explain me how to make "Cheats" work?

I created a notepad with the ID game .txt
(example: 010063301BD50000.txt)
and I put into this notepad file the codes

(example:
00000000 00000000 00000000
04000000 01C73144 0B010108
04000000 01C73184 0B010108

04000000 09BEDBB8 161F22FB
04000000 09BEDBBC 0098967F
)

I created a "cheat" directory into my NS Roms directory, I long-tap the game, properties, Add "Mod-Cheats", I choose my directory (where the cheat is), a windows appear "Applying modifies, wait" and, after the loading, I can clearly see the Cheat (as well as the rom updates and/or DLC's). And it can even let me activate or deactivate them.

BUT! After I go into the game, no cheats are enabled at all. Can you please help me, since I surely did something wrong? Thanks a lot in advance!

This thread is for hardware switches not emulated, you may get an answer but I believe this is what you need, there's also a link to a visual guide.

https://git.eden-emu.dev/eden-emu/eden/src/branch/master/docs/user/UsingCheats.md

If that doesn't work I'm sure they'll have a dicord. I stand by that typo!

Hey guys, so I plan to mod/jailbreak my Switch in the future whenever I can, and I did check that my Switch is 100% moddable. But recently, I updated my Switch to version 21.2.0, unintentionally. Although, I still have Smash Ultimate at version 13.0.1 right now and I try not to update the game to the latest version, just to be safe, since some of its mods are outdated. And yeah, I do plan to use mods in that game.

My question is... if I updated my Switch to a later version, including the one I am in right now, despite my Switch not being modded yet, would that affect my future modding experience in any way? I have not updated my Switch in a while, so I'm unaware.

All I know is that you are not supposed update the Switch until you update Atmosphere (or whatever hacked OS you have installed) that is compatible with the latest Nintendo Switch update. But... again, my Switch is not modded yet, nor did I ever get the chance to use Atmosphere so... I'm just curious if this would potentially affect me.

22.0.0 is the latest firmware, so far it has no cfw. Right now latest supported firmware is 21.2.0

I know. I'm guessing the answer to my question above is no. I just want to make sure that I didn't mess anything up, while I haven't been able to jailbreak my Switch yet.

Atmosphere is been worked on but not by SciresM so there is no ETA. If you got an unpatched switch as long there is updated support files from Atmosphere and Hekate you should be fine if you have an unpatched switch. If you have v2/Switch Lite or OLED then obviously require a modchip.

I have Sys patch 1.6.0 installed, do i still need to install Sig patch?? I have it installed but not sure the version, what's the official link to get the latest Sig patch and how to install?

Also I'm on Atmopsphere 1.7.1 do i need to update? I just installed hekate 1.9.1 and my switch is on firmware 18.1

Also for DBI i have 658 installed as the latest, i heard i can't use any later version is this correct? Whats the latest version I can use now in english.

Right. And sorry, but I forgot to mention another thing. If I remember correctly, a friend of mine (mostly busy) told me that if a Switch mod user updates their Switch to the latest firmware, before a new Atmosphere version comes out, then they are no longer able to use some of the mods anymore. And I am particularly talking about Smash Ultimate again, as an example. Because from what I have seen, it does seem that some mod users who updates, before waiting for a new Atmosphere update, wouldn't be able to play with certain mods in the game, with them causing the game to crash on the loading screen.

That is actually what I'm particularly worried about, as someone who doesn't have a PC yet, but want to try out some mods in particular in Smash Ultimate. Which is why I try to refuse ANY updates at the moment, lol. Just to be safe.

You don't need both, if you have sys patches installed then you don't need sig patches. If you don't need the newer compiled homebrew that was recompiled for firmware 21.x.x then you can stay on 1.7.1 as that version support firmware 18.1.0

DBI 658 was the last officially version in English that isn't non translated.

So hi im new to switch modding and i recently started using shops in tinefoil but the problem is that sometimes it downloads and sometimes not. Has this something to do with sigpatches or something else. One more thing if any one has the nsp for Minecraft bedrock newest update, dragon ball sparking zero newest update and hogwarts legacy half game download from eshop as a nsp pls send because im banned so i cant update or anything with Nintendo servers. I tried using opennx shop on tinefoil to get those but it wont download it stays on 0.0 mg and then stops. Sorry for my grammar and spelling english is not my first language.

First of all, welcome to GBAtemp! Second, please read the rules, don't ask for warez stuff.

With that out of the way, Tinfoil shops can be unreliable at times so other than being somewhat convenient (i.e. you can download directly to the console) I don't really see a point in using those shops? So far I've managed to live without them and I'd highly suggest that you consider doing that as well. I usually download the files to my PC from certain trustworthy websites and, once done, connect my Switch to the PC and install them with DBI. I'm yet to run into an issue to this day.

As long your CFW setup is up-to-date and updates do not require firmware higher than what you're currently on, you should be good to go. I don't use pre-made packs like HATS, I just keep my Atmosphere, hekate, sys-patch and DBI files up-to-date, followed by any other sys-module and homebrew app that I may use as well.

My Nintendo Switch V1 takes around a minute to BOOT into OFW but 5 minutes to boot into CFW. Is this a memory card issue? How can I check the speed of my memory card or check if it’s gone bad? Thanks

Is there a guide on how to locate and update those files?
