Phenom mods are offering replacement shells to fix this problem. It's gonna take a while for them to come over, though.

I bought this specific DSPico https://store.phenommod.com/product/dspico-pre-order/ and tried to flash it with this guide: https://sanrax.github.io/flashcart-guides/cart-guides/dspico/
No matter what I do, it won't turn on. I tried flashing it with both UF2 file types and it still won't work.
I don't think it's a microSD card error. I tried a sandisk ultra 128g, a crappy unbranded 128g and a 4g lexar and none of them booted.
I've only tested it on a dsi running HiyaCFW and a N3DSxl with Luma. Both are on the latest versions (1.6.2 and 13.3.3 respectively).

When I insert the game card, the console interprets it as if there was no game card inserted into the system. Both game card readers do work with official titles.

Did you format the sd card correctly?
Yep, used GUIFormat fat32 with the correct cluster sizes

I tried holding the cartridge down into my 3DS & DSi and it seems to boot. Starting to think its a PCB/contact issue

I've heard various people with this issue with the usbc DSpicos. It might be a design flaw.

Huh, I received my USB-C DSPico from Phenom Mod Wave 2- and it has no issues in my n3DS XL or my 2DS, but I don't have any other consoles to try it on at the moment. I did, however, have to dust my n3DS XL's port before it would read using an electric duster, and I did also have to flash the firmware myself. Initially it didn't show up at all, on either console. I used the Hybrid FW because all my consoles have CFW.

FW flash was very easy- just hooked it up to a PC and slapped the firmware file on the drive that appears.

So I don't think the batch was bad, maybe you just have an unlucky unit?

I had no trouble flashing the firmware onto the DSPico. Everything just works.
The only problem is that everything just works only on my n3DS and it's not detected on my o3DS.

I don't think the o3DS has a slot-1 issue, as I'm able to swap in multiple game carts and have them all work just fine.
even my trusty old SuperCard DSONE is works just fine on my o3DS.

The pico is the only one that is not being detected, unless I hold it down into the port.

I also preordered in February for the DSpico Phenommod batch. Ordered four of them. They arrived two weeks ago. I just now had the time to mess around with them and all four are not working. I tested them out with different sd inserts, I followed the guides. Nothing on these four are working. Luckily I had ordered some on Alli website back in March and the two that I ordered there, they WORK. I even put in their sd cards into the Phenommod DSpico's and nothing. I submitted a report to them, hopefully they either refund or send a replacement batch.

Time for the good 'ol 'paper trick' to rear it's ugly head once again. (Or 3D print a shim, it's 2026 after all)
