EDIT:

You know... SOME might like a little gush, actually 😚

Glass milk bottles originally had larger openings so that the separated cream could be removed more easily. A wide opening also makes it easy to insert bottle brushes and thoroughly clean all the interior surfaces, which is important when dealing with milk residue.

I buy either Milk or Soda by trays, so it's always 6 or 12 bottles/jugs at a time, and the containers are mostly always plastic anyways

That makes a lot of sense to me!

I heard milk is bad for you.

I am here to say that bagged milk is goat. bottles are so 1900.
Im not sure Vinscool would agree with you there.
He does NOT seem to be a fan of bag-milk

milk bottles are cleaned and reused, they need to accommodate the cleaning. A wider opening also allows air to get in while pouring.

Soda needs a smaller opening to slow down the co2 escaping. A smaller opening is beneficial if you're drinking from it.

Never had bottled milk so dunno.
All the milk I've had was on cartons or on glasses when it's fresh milk given some farmer friends (raw milk sure has a different taste).
yeah, all salty and gooey.

Why are Milk Bottles, the world over, so much wider in their openings than Soda Bottles are?

Perhaps for glass milk jars. Not for plastic milk containers.

What bothers me the most is that once a corner is snipped off open, there is no good way to seal it, so the milk goes bad much quicker compared to a proper bottle with a twisted cap.

Not true. There are ways to seal plastic bags like electric handheld bag sealers and bag sealer sticks just to name a couple.

Well yeah, but the bottle openings for milk bottles are ALL wide here

Again, perhaps for glass milk bottles, but not for plastic. There are absolutely plastic milk containers in your region that have openings similar to soda bottles.
